Shiyr Productions Returns This Fall With SHIYR SHORTS; BEDLAM

Shiyr Productions returns in October with Shiyr Shorts: Bedlam. This production features a collection of original, comedic short plays compiled to communicate Shiyr's newest theme, Bedlam. Performances will run from October 14 to October 30 at the cloudbar at citizenM Hotel in Times Square.

"This year's Bedlam theme came about as a reflection on the world we live in and its current topsy-turvy nature," said Shiyr Productions founder and company member, Tamra Paselk. "Although Shiyr approaches the world through a comedic lens, we do not avoid its realities. It's a chaotic world and while serious conversations are necessary, we believe laughter is equally as important. With Shiyr Shorts: Bedlam, we choose to lean into the Bedlam around and inside all of us."

Shiyr Shorts: Bedlamfeatures five short plays by six up and coming playwrights:Jennifer Downes, John Peña Griswold, Tamra Paselk, Jamie Buxton, Emily McKayand Nick Smithson. Each original play directly relates to the production's theme: Bedlam. The actors involved in this production will each take on numerous roles. Shiyr company members, Tamra Paselk*, Kelsey Claire, and Douglas Rizzo Johnsonwill be featured, as well as guest artists, Conor McGee, Raquel Valienteand John Fuentes. *Appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity Association.

Founded in 2016 by a group of William Esper Studio graduates, Shiyr Productions aspires to present party-theater in an interactive and entertaining environment. Audiences come for a laugh, stay for a drink, and leave feeling lighter than they came. Past Shiyr productions include October 2017's Shiyr Shorts: Terror and April 2017'sproduction of Overruled.

Six performances will be held at the cloudbar at citizenM Hotel Times Square at 218 West 50th Street. The doors will open one hour prior to showtime.
