Shelton Becton, the established and esteemed Broadway conductor, composer, music director and Broadway performer steps into his solo music career with his impeccable and innate virtuosity in an evening of original compositions that unfold the mysteries, paradoxes and realities of love. These compositions encompass the topic delving into the deepness of love between dear friends, passionate and mercurial love, and an expansive godly love. Stylistically, these new songs embrace jazz while calling on classical, choral, modern gospel, R&B and pop. Shelton's rich and polished baritone is unmistakably steeped in his gospel roots. He has been the pianist and vocalist for artists such as Roberta Flack, Patti Austin and Judy Collins. His Broadway conductor credits include Ain't Misbehavin', The Color Purple, George Wolfe's Shuffle Along, and Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill.

Joining Becton are Buddy Williams on drums and George Farmer on electric and double bass. Williams is known and admired world wide as a top drummer with the ability to collaborate with the most discriminating talents. Farmer is a formidable bass talent and sought after sideman who got his first music lessons from his father trumpeter Art Farmer. The evening will also include several new arrangements by Mr. Becton of well-loved songs that will leave listeners renewed. Joining Shelton for a duet of "We Belong Together" will be special guest, Phylicia Rashad. Rashad is an actress and singer best known for starring in the Cosby Show, but is understood by theatre fans as a performer with a striking ability to embody characters, particularly through song.
