Shana Farr is set to perform her accalimed show, "Whistling Away the Dark: Through Songs of Julie Andrews" tonight, July 18th at 7:30 p.m. at the legendary Players Club, located at 16 Gramercy Park South. The performance is free and guests are welcome. Julie Andrews' biographer, Robert Windeler, will be joining Farr at this one-time-only performance.

"Whistling Away The Dark," inspired by the rich collection of lyrics and melodies that have become synonymous with Julie Andrews, is an hour of songs that represents not only great American standards by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe, the Gershwins, and The Sherman Brothers, but also beautiful, lesser known numbers by Henry Mancini, Arthur Schwartz, and Van Heusen. Ms. Farr brings her own voice and interpretations to these timeless songs, and critics agree, this beautiful songstress has a unique and alluring voice.

For this special FREE performance, biographer Robert Windeler will be joining Shana Farr on stage, along with music director Fred Barton, and cellist Adam Fisher, to elaborate on the life of Julie Andrews which can also be read in his biography “Julie Andrews: A Life On Stage and Screen.”

The line-up includes numbers such as “I Have Confidence”, "Crazy World”, "Once Upon A Long Ago”, "Star!”, “I Could Have Danced All Night” and the title piece, "Whistling Away The Dark.” Fred Barton created a masterpiece of musical arrangements, and Adam Fisher adds an unexpected musical depth with cello.
