Clarinetist/bandleader Dennis Lichtman and vocalist Tamar Korn-central figures in the revival of early jazz that has taken root in New York City over the last few decades-present an evening of hot 1920s and '30s jazz, celebrating New York City and its rich musical heritage. The show plays at The Iridium, Tuesday, March 12 at 8:30 pm. Jessie Gelber is on piano and Tal Ronen on bass.

Dennis Lichtman is a multi-instrumentalist (mainly clarinet, fiddle and mandolin) who is deeply entrenched in early- to mid-1900s American music, from traditional jazz and swing to bluegrass and western swing. Originally from Boston, MA and currently living in New York City, Lichtman has performed at Carnegie Hall, major festivals throughout the United States and on stages in Europe, Brazil and China. He is on the faculty of the Welbourne Traditional Jazz Music Camp in Middleburg, VA and has led college master classes and public school workshops through the Midori Foundation, Lincoln Center's "Meet he Artist Series" and Beijing's Ping-Pong Productions.

Tamar Korn has been a New York-based vocalist for the last decade, playing a repertoire steeped in traditional New Orleans and early jazz, western swing and American roots music. Her formative years were with one of the pioneers of New York hot jazz revival, The Cangelosi Cards. She now leads her own band, A Kornucopia. Korn is a founding member of both The Brain Cloud and The Grand St. Stompers and she often appears with Baby Soda jazz band, Terry Waldo and on occasion, joins the violinist Mark O'Connor as well as Irish folklorist and tenor banjo and bouzouki player Mick Moloney. Her love is of singing songs both lyrically as well as playing her voice "instrumentally," Korn has toured throughout North America, as well as Scandinavia, France, Lithuania, China and the Caribbean and has appeared at the NYC Winter Jazzfest. She has also appeared at venues all over New York from the Cafe Carlyle and Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola to retro-nouveau speakeasy style clubs such as Shanghai Mermaid.
