54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Saycon Sengbloh for the first time ever for two-nights of "Vintage Pop Soul" August 13 at 7pm and August 29 at 11pm.

Vintage Pop Soul will showcase the captivating and enigmatic performance that Saycon has become known for delivering, whether on the stage, in concert, or from the recording studio. During the two-night performances, her versatility and intense talent will hypnotize audiences as she takes them on a journey of today and yesterday's popular classics. During this magical and intimate evening, Saycon will stir the sounds reminiscent of the legendary Tina Turner mixed with psychedelic soul, R&B and funk of a Janelle Monae sprinkled with the smoothness of Sade -- all Saycon Sengbloh style.

Saycon's August 13 show will feature the musical direction of Andre "Chez" Lewis and Jason Michael Webb will serve as musical director for the August 29th show. The show also will offer special surprises.

Saycon Sengbloh in Vintage Pop Soul plays 54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on August 13 at 7pm and August 29 at 11pm. There is a $25-$50 cover charge and $25 food and beverage minimum. Most recently, Saycon Sengbloh starred in the high-energy Broadway musical Holler If Ya Hear Me, where she enthused New York Times to say "strong-voiced, and is "vibrant." Before joining the cast of Holler, she was showcased in the Tony award-nominated, Motown the Musical and originated the role of Sandra Iszadore in the hottest and only Afro-beat award winning musical "Fela!" on Broadway, produced by Jay-Z, Will Smith, and Jada Pinkett-Smith along with Steve and Ruth Hendel. Inspired by sensual eclectic performance of pop, soul, and R&B music, Saycon continues to record and release amazing music, including the ballad Be Here and the previously released "Southern Pin-Up EP" and "Southern Pin-Up: Special Edition" that featured original music and covers of her favorites artists. Her song, "Possible" appeared on the soundtracks of the feature film "Single Hills," the web series "Mommy Uncensored." Her modern rendition of "It Was a Very Good Year" has become a fan favorite during her live show. The Atlanta native also makes notable appearances on the Grammy nominated soundtracks for Motown the Musical, Fela!, and the Broadway revival of Hair. She also appeared as Young Dearie B in the film "Funny Valentines" based on the J. California Cooper's short story of the same name, the blockbuster film, "American Gangster", Tyler Perry's very first musical "I Know I've Been Changed," and worked with the Tony Award winning Alliance Theater Company under artistic directors Kenny Leon & Susan Booth. The Liberian American actress has the distinction of being the first woman of African descent to perform the role of Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) as a standby in the musical "Wicked."
