Call it dumb luck, but the recent college grads Savannah & Chase are gearing up for what is clearly the biggest night of their very short careers as the mega-important Metropolitan Room gets ready present "Too Blondes," in a major engagement beginning tonight, March 16 at 7pm.
A fitfully funny revue mixing comedy, song, dance and uncensored digressions into pop-culture and youthful hedonism, "Too Blondes" stars the preternaturally gifted Chase O'Donnell and Savannah Brown. These two 20-something supernovas, who nearly walked away with this summer's epic talent search, "Mama's Next BIG Act!" (the two were finalists), have just returned from a whirlwind three-show world tour. The two played a club in Hawaii (they don't remember the name), and London's prestigious Crazy Coqs. In April Florida beckons the blondes, who will play the Not Just Jazz and Cabaret Club, which is in Florida. Not sure exactly how this all happened, or how they just got a Big MAC nomination, the duo feels a growing commitment to cabaret, at least until they can make a television pilot based on their cabaret show and leave all the drudgery behind. Often compared to Nichols & May, Comden & Green, Gracie Allen, Judy Holiday, Carol Burnett and J-Lo, Savannah and Chase are enhanced by the musical accompaniment of the gifted pianist Sheridan Stevens on piano, and the guitarist Oliver Switzer on guitar.Videos
