Sam Harris lands at Birdland July 30th 2008 through August2nd2008 with showtimes at 7:00p.m., as part of the long-running, Nightlife Award-winning concert series Broadway at Birdland.

 

Accomplished actor, singer, songwriter, soon-to-be talk show host and brand new father, Sam Harris, brings a new show to Birdland, featuring songs from his new CD entitled Free, which is slated for release July 2008.Harrs is credited as writing a large part of the acoustic driven pop/rock CD, including "War On War." The song is currently going viral on YouTube, an online channel for which people are creating music videos.His upcoming Broadway at Birdland appearance will mark the live debut of Harris's forthcoming album, mixed in with fan favorites, and his own brand of humor, which recently won him a network talk show deal.Todd Schroeder will musically direct the evening.

Harris found great triumph in the live show which bared the title he can now claim: SAM. Critics shouted unequaled praise, making it the single most lauded show of the Los Angeles season. He has toured major cities with SAM., accompanied by his long time music director, the brilliantly talented Todd Schroeder. HARRIS has also appeared with popular symphonies such as The Boston Pops. Broadway credits include The Life, The Producers and Funny Girl.

Throughout his career, Harris has made appearances on numerous television shows and specials and in countless live productions, working alongside the musical legends such as Stevie Wonder, Elizabeth Taylor, Elton John, Al Green and the great Liza Minnelli. He has appeared on numerous shows such as The Tonight Show, The Today Show, Rosie, The View, Barbara Walters Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Look for HARRIS on ABC-TV's "The View" on July 23, as well as the "CW11 Morning News" show on July 25 to promote his Broadway at Birdland schedule of appearances.

Created by acclaimed performer, writer, producer & presenter Jim Caruso, BROADWAY AT BIRDLAND is a weekly concert series on Sunday and Monday evenings, showcasing legendary Broadway performers and composers, as well as up-and-coming musical theater talents. Started as a companion piece to the hugely popular and hilarious weekly impromptu variety show Jim Caruso's Cast Party (which follows Mondays at 9:30pm). BROADWAY AT BIRDLAND has recently hosted such diverse performers as Jason Robert Brown, Lucie Arnaz, Christine Ebersole with Billy Stritch, and Melissa Errico – as well as the benefit concert Chita Rivera LOVES BROADWAY CARES, which sold out two shows in record time.
