Soul Divas Night Out presents "Strength of a Woman: A Phyllis Hyman Tribute."

MAC vocalist and Divine Voices Music recording artist Queen Diva (The Beaumont Theater in Lincoln Center, Apollo Theater, Ashford & Simpson's Sugar Bar) will be performing live with pianist/composer Jeff Bolding (Abyssinian Baptist Church, Harlem School of the Arts), background vocal direction by singer/songwriter Ayanda Sunshine (PixAlien, Shrine World Music & Sullivan Hall), and background vocals by Tonya Lewis Taylor (EARS Music Group Gospel Recording Artist & Top 20 Billboard Gospel Hit "I'm A Winner").

The show is set for 9:30 pm (Doors open at 9 pm) on Friday, September 22, 2017, during Suicide Prevention Month, located Off-Off Broadway at The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street (between 5th & 6th Avenue) New York, New York 10010.

Queen Diva will perform a 60-minute set of songs she personally selected in tribute to the songstress Phyllis Linda Hyman. We have confirmed four members of the Hyman Family who will be in attendance.

"I wanted to sing my favorite songs recorded and performed by Phyllis Hyman in honor of what she contributed to Broadway, Jazz, R&B and Soul music. I also wanted to shed just a little light to her 'Phans' about her silent battle with mental illness. Many people do not know that Phyllis Hyman suffered from Bipolar Disorder which led to her decision to commit suicide. Mental Illness is not often discussed within the African American community or in some cases treated at all. I wanted to share some of my favorite songs and a little history behind my selections and encourage all to embrace her music and not how she left this earth," says Queen Diva.

General Admission: $24.00. There is a $25 Food/Drink minimum. Purchase tickets at www.queendivamusic.com.
