The New York Nightingales take the stage in their vintage variety show, "Salute the Troops!", hosted by John R. Sheehan, on the 30th day of May at 9:30 p.m. at Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club. BroadwayWorld has a behind-the-scenes preview of the group in rehearsals below!
These three dames will transport you back in time to the Stage Door Canteen with their swanky style, killer diller harmonies, and playful personalities. This Memorial Day join the Nightingales in glorious remembrance as they pay tribute to the armed forces through oldfashioned song and dance! Guest performances by Kyle Scatliffe (The Color Purple), John KempEdwards (Jersey Boys), Stacy Lee Tilton (Brigadoon), Allyson Briggs, Jordan Fife Hunt, and the Nightingale Band (Yoonmi Choi, Derek Swink, Andy Warren, Tyler Luppi). Come cut a rug with Manhattan's finest jitterbugs!
Reviving that sound only found deep within the old but golden records, the New York Nightingales, with their nostalgic, tight harmonies and modern charm have taken Manhattan by storm. These dames made their debut on Memorial Day of 2015 at The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in true patriotic style. Within a few measures, the boys of Fleet Week NYC understood what makes these dames so special. All graduates of AMDA, Hope Jarman, Jennifer Mergele, and Tia Andriani founded Nightingale Productions, L.L.C., and set out on a mission to team with fellow artists, musicians, and nonprofit organizations to promote artistic independence and create performance opportunities. The Nightingales have grown to be a crowd favorite from the time they stormed the beaches of Coney Island, to their performances at the tree lighting ceremony of the Four Seasons Hotel New York and the Holiday Dress Event at Saks Fifth Avenue. Such events garnered enough attention to warrant their vast success when they released their Holiday EP on iTunes. Produced by Brian Forbes [Grammy Nominated] of The Gallery Recording Studios, The New York Nightingales' rendition of "Cool Yule" made the airwaves in the US, Canada, and the UK. In addition to their musicianship, these three are the epitome of both brains and beauty. Their vibe may be as classic as The Andrew Sisters, but The New York Nightingales are a breath of fresh air when it comes to swing. From somewhere between the crackle of your grandmother's record player and the smoky underground jazz clubs, The New York Nightingales are an experience you'll have to see to believe.
