SIPPIN ON FIRE Set for Stage 72, 11/13

Sippin On Fire will be presented at Stage 72 at 158 West 72nd Street (bet Broadway-Columbus Ave) Friday, November 13th at 9:00 p.m. Sippin' On Fire is a hot cabaret of five handsome, talented, versatile NYC-based performers --Ryan K. Bailer, Francesc Esteve, Matt Maretz, Conor McGee and Ryan Mulgrew. They give the audience a feast for the ears and eyes. With piano, bass, drums and guitar accompaniment, the show has been conceived by with musical direction by Phil Hall. This is a show based on pop music with some Broadway thrown as well as many songs, familiar--which gives each of the five guys to showcase their unique style and talent as well as sexiest interpretation to the stage.

Ryan K. Bailer was thrilled to recently be a part of of the cast of the National Tour of EVITA as the Peron understudy. Some previous credits include Les Miserables (3rd National Tour, Javert U/S), EVITA (Chicago's Marriott Lincolnshire, Peron U/S) and Forever Plaid(Chicago's Royal George, Smudge). Ryan has a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Michigan.

Francesc Esteve is originally from Spain. In Europe, he has been directed by Gillian Lynne in Cats; Jerry Zaks and B.T. McNicholl inThe Producers; Barry McNabb in Victor Victoria. Other shows have been Tannhäuser, Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, Coco Comin inCharlie and the Chocolate Factory; and Toronto productions of Spamalot and in Evita. He has toured through Spain and France as a lead singer, with Orchestra Selvatana, International Orchestra Janio Martí and Orchestra Venus.

Matt Maretz is originally from San Diego, CA and moved to the East coast for a bit of better weather. He is a graduate of the Drama program at Syracuse University. Recent credits include, The Lightning Thief (1st National Tour), American Games (Off-Broadway), The Who's Tommy (San Diego Rep), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Syracuse Stage).

Conor McGee is a Baltimore native, earning his degree from the University of Virginia, where he also played varsity lacrosse. After graduation, Conor moved to NYC to study acting at the William Esper Studio. Conor made his NYC debut last year in Phil Hall and Sharon Halley's Christmas spectacular, Under The Mistletoe, presented by the Lincoln Center Performing Arts Library. Conor currently studies and performs at The People's Improv Theater in NYC.

Ryan Mulgrew hails from the San Francisco Bay Area. His theater career started at eight performing in and performed in over 20 productions in the Bay Area community. He moved to NYC to pursue a BFA in Acting at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and also studied at Stella Adler Studio of Acting and Playwrights Horizons Theater School. After graduating he played Willard in Footloose. In NYC has performed at Joe's Pub, Madison Square Garden and Yankee Stadium.

Phil Hall (Musical Director/Vocal Arranger) On Broadway conducted Play Me A Country Song and was associate conductor for the revival of Mame, starring Angela Lansbury. He conducted a national tour of Cats, and musically directed Side By Side By Sondheim at Michigan Opera Theatre with Nancy Dussault and Ron Raines. For the St. Louis MUNY he conducted The Wizard Of Oz starring Phyllis Diller as the Wicked Witch, and conducted the premiere of The Prince Of Central Park, starring Nanette Fabray. Some other musical directing credits includeSome Enchanted Evening at Kennedy Center. He appeared in Paper Mill's Show Boat, which aired on PBS' Great Performances series. He appeared in the Mira Sorvino-produced film, Lisa Picard Is Famous. He composed the score for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, (produced at Paper Mill Playhouse, Santa Barbara Civic Light Opera, Kansas City Starlight Theatre and North Shore Music Theatre). He vocally arrangedSophisticated Ellington, a concert of Duke Ellington's music, at Carnegie Hall by Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. His first play with music, Matthew Passion, was produced at the American Theatre of Actors' Chernuchin Theatre.
