SIMON GREEN: TRAVELING LIGHT Comes To Feinstein's One Night Only 5/24

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post, will continue its Spring 2010 season with the debut of Simon Green and musical director and longtime collaborator David Shrubsole in their 2010 Drama Desk Award nominated show, "Traveling Light." The show explores the practical nature of travel; passports, suitcases and sunscreen, as well as the experience of simply traveling through life featuring some of the greatest musical writings of the 20th Century from Lennon and McCartney to Leslie Bricusse to an inspired piece of collaboration between J.R.R Tolkein and Donald Swann. The show, which was nominated for the 2010 Drama Desk award for Outstanding Musical Review, will be performed at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

Simon Green trained at LAMDA in London. His West End appearances include Good Thing Going and A Swell Party for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Cadogan Hall, Jules in Sunday In The Park With George at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Knight Of The Burning Pestle, Lumiere in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Whizzer in March Of The Falsettos, Young Ben in Follies, Elegies, Coriolanus, Elmer Gantry, Robespierre in The Scarlet Pimpernel, Lady Be Good and Tony in The Boyfriend at the Old Vic. For the Royal Shakespeare Company he has appeared as the Tin Man in The Wizard Of Oz and Frank Schultz in Showboat.

For over ten years Simon has worked with his collaborator, arranger and musical director, David Shrubsole and together they have performed cabaret in many of London's best venues. They made their New York debut at The FireBird and in 1999 and were invited to appear in the Noel Coward Centennial Gala at Carnegie Hall, returning the following year with "Simon Green - Solo" at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hal. In December 2009 they once more returned to New York with Coward At Christmas - A Cabaret For Noël for a record breaking season at 59E59 Theaters. DAVID SCHRUBSOLE studied composition, piano and bassoon at Trinity College of Music in London. Composition for plays include: Kes at The Liverpool Playhouse, Hay Fever at the Chichester Festival Theatre, Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo & Juliet at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, Total Eclipse at Menier Chocolate Factory and Troilus and Cressida - co-composed with George Stiles and nominated for a Chicago Jeff Award at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. As an orchestrator and arranger, he has contributed to Let's Face The Music & Dance, Peter Pan, Aspects Of Love, The Importance of Being Earnest, The Three Musketeers, Assassins, Ain't Misbehavin', A Chorus Line, High Society, Annie Get Your Gun (UK Tour), A Twist Of Fate, Mixed Doubles and Rogues To Riches. David is a regular member of staff at the Royal Academy of Music.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will present Simon Green in "Traveling Light" on Monday, May 24 at 8:30 PM.
