SEX, SWAGGER & SWING: SINATRA VS. DARIN Comes To Feinstein's/54 Below May 14 Image

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Jonathan Poretz in Sex, Swagger & Swing: Sinatra vs. Darin - The Concert That Never Was on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. Following his triumphant Feinstein's/54 Below debut in 2018, Poretz returns for his second homecoming with his highly acclaimed show that has played to sold-out audiences, including Feinstein's at the Nikko in San Francisco, where Poretz currently resides.

Performing his show on the very date that would have been Bobby Darin's 83rd birthday and the 21st anniversary of the passing of Frank Sinatra, Poretz brings these two musical icons together for the very first time. Fans of Sinatra and Darin are as faithful and diehard as they come. They're either with or against one or the other. But regardless of the camp they're in, audiences should prepare for an exhilarating musical evening as Poretz and his high octane, swingin', mini-Big Band, pit Sinatra and Darin classics against each other in a musical "Clash of the Titans."

Among the song battles that will be played out on the Feinstein's/54 Below stage: "I've Got You Under My Skin" vs. "Mack The Knife", "I'm Gonna Live 'Til I Die" vs. "As Long As I'm Singing", "Fly Me To The Moon" vs. "Charade", "My Way" vs. "Beyond The Sea," "River Stay Away From My Door" vs. Lazy River," "New York, New York" vs. "The Curtain Falls" and many more.

Joining Poretz on stage is an all-star band led by drummer extraordinaire Michael Berkowitz, a Broadway and concert veteran who has served as musical director for Marvin Hamlisch and Liza Minnelli, among many others. Richard Nelson Hall, Poretz's long-time pianist and a fellow alum of the long-running Las Vegas tribute show, "The Rat Pack Is Back," will serve as musical director and conductor.

Jonathan Poretz in Sex, Swagger & Swing: Sinatra vs. Darin - The Concert That Never Was plays Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th Street) on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. There is a $35-$75 cover charge and $25 food and beverage minimum. Tickets and information are available at www.54Below.com. Tickets on the day of performance after 4:00 are only available by calling (646) 476-3551.

MORE ABOUT Jonathan Poretz

Some say he was born with a microphone in his hand. That would explain why Pacific Coast Jazz artist Jonathan Poretz is so comfortable performing his brand of great American standards to audiences large and small. Whether appearing in an intimate club or a large outdoor venue, Jonathan brings an electric energy to any stage he's on, a talent he's been cultivating since his early teens, when he sang in bands featuring jazz giants Charlie Shavers, Snooky Young, Chuck Wayne, Joe Puma, and others in his home town of New York City.

Over the past decade Poretz has had the honor of portraying Frank Sinatra in a series of tribute shows in the US and Europe, including the long-running Las Vegas production of "The Rat Pack Is Back." He has written and starred in a variety of music and comedy shows, including "Sex, Swagger & Swing: Sinatra and Darin in the Concert That Never Was" and "When Vegas Was VEGAS!"

His latest jazz CD, "At Last: Songs For Elena" was released in late 2018.
