After completing a sold out run in Ann Arbor this past October at Theatre Nova, native Michigan actor and playwrightTim Campos returns to perform his one-person show Screw It: Doin' Time on the Line at the Marlene Boll Theatre in Detroit, April 21 through 23, 2017
. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, February 24 at 10 a.m. online at www.screwit.brownpapertickets.com.
Directed by Antoine McKay, a leading director and actor from the Midwest, the show chronicles Campos' near decade of personal experiences working the assembly line for Ford Motor Company in both Saline, Michigan, and Chicago, Illinois. Campos performs over forty-five unique characters in this hilarious and poignant fast-paced show. Screw It: Doin' Time on the Line is a daring solo performance that gives a glimpse into the factories of one of America's largest companies. Campos takes the audience on a no holds barred adventure as he shares his intimate portrait of factory life.
In Screw It: Doin' Time on the Line, twenty-seven-year-old actor Tim returns home to Detroit financially broke after performing his play in Los Angeles. Like many others in the Motor City, he takes a job with Ford Motor Company to recoup his finances and to move out of his sister's house. His 'one-year and done' promise to himself turns into nearly a decade after he reaps the benefits of a steady paycheck and a job where he can manipulate the system. Tim treats the assembly line like a stage, using daily doses of pranks and absurdity to keep from going insane. All the while, trying to figure out the perfect escape from the factory life. The show contains explicit language throughout.
Screw It: Doin' Time on the Line features Original Music by Ryan Bentley, Ray Smetana (former Ford Saline Parts Plant worker now working at Dearborn Truck) and Quasar Wut-Wut.
Sound design is by Ken Faulk. He has worked on hundreds of productions throughout Michigan.
