Ryan Silverman, Hilary Gardner & More Set for Cafe Carlyle This Winter

Recently launched by Café Carlyle, the Late Night Series expands the storied New York venue's entertainment offerings while making the signature Carlyle experience-exceptional artists in a singularly intimate and elegant setting-more accessible. InThe New York Observer, Rex Reed has hailed the Late Night Series as "good news" and applauded it for "bringing excitement and joy to People Who Know Things." Continuing on the series' previous success, the winter season will offer recurring performances by some of cabaret's most promising and acclaimed talent today, including Hilary Gardner, Ryan Silvermanand Kate Davis with special guests Bria Skonberg and Benny Benack. Others will be announced soon.

All performances begin at 10:45 p.m. Admission Monday through Thursday is $25 per person with a $25 food & beverage minimum; Friday & Saturday is $30 per person with a $25 food & beverage minimum. Jazz vocalist Hilary Gardner, who was propelled to prominence by her role as the live, onstage singer in Twyla Tharp's Broadway production of Come Fly Away, makes her return to the Café in a series of Thursday night performances, January 23 to February 13. Joining her each night will be Jason Marshall on saxophone and Willerm Delisfort on piano, as well as a rotating cast of musicians including Jerome Jennings on drums (1/23), Elias Bailey on bass (1/23), Noah Garabedian on bass (1/30, 2/6 & 2/13), Kevin Kanner on drums (1/30 & 2/13) and Willard Dyson on drums (2/6).

In a review of the Classic Stage Company's revival of Stephen Sondheim's Passion, Jennifer Farrar of the Associated Presswrote, "Ryan Silverman sings robustly, projecting a winning gravity and earnestness." The vocalist's impressive range has allowed him to move smoothly across various genres including opera, symphony concerts, pop, traditional music theater and big band. Currently starring as Billy Flynn in the Broadway production of Chicago, he makes his debut at Café Carlyle in a run of Friday night performances January 24 to February 14, as well as a performance on Wednesday, February 12.

The prolific singer-songwriter Kate Davis was recently named one of MTV's 15 Fresh Females Who Will Rule Pop in 2014. The soulful bassist/vocalist has received a number of accolades, including four Downbeat Magazine Awards and a Robert Allen ASCAP Award. She makes her Café Carlyle debut in a string of Wednesday night collaborative performances. On January 29, she'll be joined by trumpeter/vocalist Bria Skonberg, who "plays trumpet like a red hot devil, and sings like a dream" (The Wall Street Journal). Then, on February 5 &12, she'll share the stage with trumpeter/vocalist Benny Benack, who Wynton Marsalis listed as one of the Next Generation of Jazz Greats in Jet magazine.
