Ruth Carlin has been working her fingers to the bone raising her two children. Now, she's working her vocal cords to entertain audiences in some of the best venues in NYC, including the likes of The Laurie BeechmanTheater, The Duplex, Don't Tell Mama, and Metropolitan Room. Singing is not a new concept for Carlin as she returns to the stage after a long hiatus raising a family away from the brilliant lights and stage of the theater, which she grew to love when she was in her 20s.

New York City is not an unfamiliar turf for Carlin as she was born and raised in its city streets until she scooped up her life to carry out her maternal years. Carlin excelled in songwriting, poetry and singing. She performed in childrens' theater and Off-Broadway shows. While parenting her children, she kept her poetry and songwriting skills sharp and even participated in the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop as a lyricist.

Ruth Carlin will once again grace the stage of the glorious and World Renowned Cabaret, Metropolitan Room on Wednesday, November 18th. She will feature the songs of Judy Collins, a favorite of NYC fans, and will be joined by Dick Sarpola on Bass and John Redsecker on Drums. This promises to be an unforgettable evening of beautiful music in a beautiful setting that go well together on a crisp November evening. She is at home singing folk, pop, musical theatre, and standards, explains Carlin, "...as long as the song is honest and about something true." Carlin added, "I get to the heart of a song, makes it my own and share it lovingly with my audience."
