Ruby Powers, NYC's most joyous drag queen, celebrates her third anniversary at Bar Thalia at Symphony Space for "Ruby Powers' Spook-tacular Saturday." This Halloween edition of her cabaret features pop songs, standards, Broadway, and comedy, and takes place Saturday, October 29th, from 9:00pm until midnight.
"Life is a banquet...and I'm hungry!" Ruby Powers is the modern-day Auntie Mame/live-action Miss Piggy drag persona of Brent Lomas. Together with music director Zachary Bencal, Ruby promises a captivating evening of camaraderie and cheer.
Joining Ruby Powers, SPOOK-TACULAR SATURDAY will feature the talents of Jessie Bangarang Atkinson, Mara Beier, Brian Dann, Stephanie Haring, Annie Nelson, and Julia Van Cartier.
The evening promises an eclectic mix of music (from Ahrens and Flaherty to the Spice Girls), stand-up comedy, and party games.
Ruby Powers has made Bar Thalia her cabaret home, performing regularly since 2015. She has also appeared at the Metropolitan Room, The Duplex, Urban Stages, and 54 Below/Feinstein's, among others. She can be seen every Friday night at Icon Bar and Lounge in Astoria.
