MARILYN MAYE, April 27, 28 & 30 at 7PM:

Back by overwhelming popular demand! Any evening with Marilyn Maye is a special event, but the particular magic of Her Way is its melding of two unique artists, one in spirit, the other in the flesh, into an evening in the theater that boasts not just one but two living legends. It doesn't get any better than this. Of course, Marilyn Maye is an artist for connoisseurs and her powerhouse delivery and chatty rapport with the audience is what holds the evening together and electrifies the proceedings. The aptly named production is an unabashed valentine to the late superstar, from the Super Singer that pays tribute to Sinatra's career with an immensely talented peer's interpretations of the songs that made Sinatra famous. It's a full-scale labor of love for another performer that is rarely seen from an artist of Maye's stature, and that is exactly what makes the show a must-see experience. $55-70 cover charge. $105 premium seating. $25 food & beverage minimum.

GOODSPEED'S JOHNNY MERCER WRITERS COLONY IN CONCERT, April 27 at 9:30PM

The Johnny Mercer Foundation (JMF) and Goodspeed Musicals present an evening with writers from its 3rd Annual Writers Colony, showcasing the work of Michael R. Jackson (A Strange Loop), Jean Rohe (The Odysseus Agreement), Pia & Peter Cincotti (The Last Laugh) and Patrick Lundquist & Peter Seibert (Puccini). The Johnny Mercer Writers Colony is a long term residency program devoted exclusively to musical theatre writing and was launched in 2013 with the generous support of the Johnny Mercer Foundation held on the campus of Goodspeed Musicals. The colony nurtures writers by providing each team private housing, resources to write, and evening salons to discuss their work. Over the course of the four week program, composer/lyricist Jonathan Brielle serves as Producer/Writer in Residence, and Michael Bush serves as Resident Dramaturge. Goodspeed's Donna Lynn Hilton is the Producing Artistic Director and Hunter Bird serves as Line Producer of the JMF Writers Colony. The mission of the Johnny Mercer Foundation (JMF) is to support the discipline of songwriting in the tradition of the Great American Songbook as exemplified by the life and work of Johnny Mercer: lyricist, composer, performer, collaborator and producer. The Foundation continues Johnny's legacy by partnering with individuals and organizations dedicated to celebrating and nourishing the disciplines he mastered and the causes he and Ginger Mercer championed. The mission of the Goodspeed Opera House Foundation is to preserve and produce musical theatre of the highest quality. By producing from the repertoire and developing new works, Goodspeed acts as a major resource for the musical, an art form indigenous to this country. Hosted by Tony Nominee and JMWC Alumni, Elizabeth A. Davis (Once) and featuring Robert Cuccioli (Spider Man, Jekyll & Hyde), Eric Leviton (Kinky Boots), Charissa Hogeland (Heathers), Blake Segal (Mary Poppins), Amanda Bruton, Mark Caputo, Elijah Caldwell, Larry Hamilton, James Jackson, Larry Owens, Sarah Serpa, Jamaal Clark Turpin, Jason Veasey, Grace Wall, and Jo Wallfisch. Produced by Hunter Bird and Directed by Michael Bush. $30-40 cover charge. $70 premium seating. $25 food & beverage minimum.

JENNIFER SHEEHAN, April 29 at 9:30PM:

STARDUST: A NIGHT IN THE COSMOS. "Young, good-looking and very astute, Ms. Sheehan gives you hope. Drawing from a deep well of feeling, she interprets lyrics from the point of view of someone who knows who she is and conveys empathy in a voice that glows with insight." -The New York Times.Multiple award-winning performer Jennifer Sheehan and her stellar quartet celebrate the beauty, wonder and romance of the night sky in a song-studded 54 Below evening featuring songs as dazzling and diverse as the stars above - including music from Pink Martini, Duke Ellington, Sergio Mendes, Melody Gardot, David Bowie, Joni Mitchell and Kurt Weill, just to name a few. It's a celebration of the many ways we come to love the night sky - as wide-eyed children who look up in wonderment, as young lovers who fall under its enchantment, and as star-gazers of all ages who contemplate love and life on this small blue dot in the universe. And, of course, the stars spark our imagination about what lies beyond... so the show also features some fascinating stories about new discoveries about our star-studded cosmos. One might say it's a show that goes where no show has gone before. Jennifer Sheehan, a critically acclaimed, multi-award winning vocalist, starred in the premiere episode of the new WNET/WLIW (PBS) TV series, "66th and Broadway," which aired throughout February 2015. Sheehan has performed at Carnegie Hall, as the guest of Michael Feinstein, and at Jazz at Lincoln Center, 54 Below and Town Hall in New York, among other renowned venues. Her solo shows have entertained audiences at Café Carlyle, Feinstein's, Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, the Savannah Music Festival, Ely Cathedral (U.K.), the Historic Asolo Theatre in Sarasota, The Royal Room in Palm Beach, the Juilliard in Aiken Festival, The Gardenia in L.A., The Metropolitan Room, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis and many other concert and cabaret venues around the country. The winner of the first Noël Coward Competition Award and the first-ever recipient of the Margaret Whiting Award, Sheehan also is the recipient of the Dorothy Loudon Award, the Julie Wilson Award and the Donald F. Smith Award for outstanding interpretation of the Great American Songbook. Sheehan also performs in concerts and in the theater, most recently in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular as one of six vocalists, and regionally, starring as Betty Haynes in White Christmas. She has performed in shows at the 92nd Street Y, Guild Hall in East Hampton, the York Theater in New York, the Bard Summerscape Festival, Boston Musical Theater, and on national tours. A Cabaret Scenes review of her debut album, You Made Me Love You, proclaims, "It is rare that one singer has as much going for her as Jennifer displays on this disc." $25-35 cover charge. $60 premium seating. $25 food & beverage minimum.

THE SONGS OF ELI BOLIN, May 1 at 9:30PM:

The songs of Eli Bolin - like the man himself - are sincere and direct, while possessing a ramshackle, goofy quality. His tuneful (always), heart-sick (occasionally), potty-mouth (when he just can't help it) jams make for a perfect party playlist. On May 1st, take a star-studded journey through Eli Bolin's songbook, including fan favorites from last fall's hit Off-Broadway musical Found and NYMF's 'Most Promising New Musical' Volleygirls, as well as works in progress and new material that's never been performed live. Don't be fooled by those sweet cheeks and floppy curls: this man and his work are to be taken seriously. The Songs of Eli Bolin will be performed by Jennifer Damiano (Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, Next to Normal), Kevin Del Aguila (Peter and the Starcatcher), Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q), Drew Gasparini (composer of Make Me Bad), Jed Resnick (Avenue Q), Jeremy Morse (Bloodsong of Love), Allison Posner (Volleygirls), Larry Hamilton (Captain Louie) and Nicholas Barnes (Skippyjon Jones). The evening is directed by Laura Pietropinto, produced by Erica Rotstein, and will feature music direction by Mike Pettry. $25-35 cover charge. $55 premium seating. $25 food & beverage minimum.

MICHAEL FINKE, May 1 at 11:30PM:

Award winning musical theatre songwriter, Michael Finke, comes out of "writing hibernation" and returns to 54 Below this spring with an all new and innovative theatrical concert. Audiences can expect to hear an array of new material as well as some audience favorites from musicals such as Reporting Live, Caroline and George, and Other People's Relationships. The evening will also include several songs from his upcoming operetta, Hurricane. Recent winner of the 2015 New Voices Project, Michael has had songs performed in Off-Broadway revues, cabaret venues across the country, national television, and overseas. Ranging from the hilariously absurd to the melodramatically macabre, his eclectic body of music varies from pop ballads to vaudevillian numbers to dramatic scenes and everything between. Come join a cast of both acclaimed Broadway veterans and emerging musical theatre performers as they create a theatrically explosive evening of song, story, and creative debauchery.
