F. Michael Haynie, Molly Hager, Eric William Morris, Jeremy Morse, Luca Padovan, Jose Restrepo, Jason SweetTooth William, and others will star in A Rokicki/Iconis Double Feature a Halloween double-bill comprised of two separate concerts, October 31st at The Laurie Beechman Theater.
PART 1: MONSTERSONGS
Monstersongs is an exciting new piece of theatre synthesizing a live rock concept-album and a graphic novel- all from the point of view of misunderstood monsters. Featuring a score from award-wining composer/lyricist Rob Rokicki and illustrations by Dave O'Neill of the popular Shankman & O'Neill children's book series, the show is a silly, scary, heartbreaking, and hilarious multimedia experience.
Rob Rokicki is a songwriter, performer and music director in NYC. He's a member of the Dramatists Guild, Actor's Equity, and alum of the Tony Award-winning BMI workshop. Rob wrote the music and lyrics to the acclaimed Off-Broadway adaptation of the Percy Jackson book, The Lightning Thief (book by Joe Tracz). He co-authored two award-winning musicals: Love, NY and Strange Tails with Michael Ruby. He recently released his first studio album featuring Broadway friends on iTunes. PART 2: JOE ICONIS AND FAMILY'S ROCK AND ROLL HAUNTED HALLOWEEN SPECIAL 5
Join Joe Iconis and his Frightening Family of musical theater goblins for a devilish night of ghoulish rock and roll fun. An electrocuted evening of high octane performances. Songs from scary musicals, cuts from obscure horror movies, some Halloween-themed Iconis originals, and a body bag full of holiday classics. A night of whiskey ghosts, kazoo spirits, and happy skeletons.
Iconis has penned The Black Suits, the Drama Desk Award nominated Bloodsong of Love, ReWrite, The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks, and We The People as well as the theatrical concert Things to Ruin (cast recording now available on Ghostlight Records). His songs were featured on Season 2 of NBC's "Smash" and he is currently working on commissions for La Jolla Playhouse and Two River Theater.
