George Rae, one of the rising stars of Musical Theatre in London, is to make his New York City concert debut Monday February 5, 2018 at Feinstein's/54 Below.
Supported by several other stars of the West End and Broadway, his Life is a Caba-RAE: A Scot in New York! show is not to be missed!
Recalling anecdotes from his blossoming career, beginning as a young Scot in London, George will perform songs that have defined him as a personality within the London musical theatre circuit and also some more personal Celtic music.
Featured guest artists include Broadway star and Laurence Olivier Award winner Stephen Ashfield (The Book of Mormon), Stephen Carlile (currently Scar in The Lion King) Valerie Cutko (Tommy Tune's Grand Hotel), Morgan Keene (Disney's 1st National Broadway Tour of Newsies) and music from Joshua Schmidt - the composer of the award-winning Adding Machine: A Musical (2008 Lucille Lortel Award and Outer Critics Circle Award winner). George played Mr Two/Shrdlu in the London
premiere.
Music Direction is by Benjamin Cox, who is currently Musical Supervisor on the Barrow Street Theatre Sweeney Todd and Direction is by another Brit, Harry Blumenau.

George Rae gained national critical acclaim for his portrayal of Otto Kringelein in the multi award-winning Grand Hotel ?(Southwark Playhouse, 2015). His heartbreaking performance delighted the critics and led him to be nominated for 3 top Best Actor awards - Best Male Performance (Off West End Theatre Awards), Best Featured Actor in a New Production of a Musical (Broadway World UK West End Awards) and Best Actor (West End Wilma Awards).
George was featured in Mark Shenton's Best Leading Men in British Musical Theatre 2017 in The Stage and was singled out for his performance as the 'joyously goofy and charmingly clumsy' slave Xanthias in the UK premiere of Nathan Lane's revised Broadway version of Sondheim's rarely performed musical, The Frogs, at Jermyn Street Theatre, 2017.
His other roles in the West End and on tour include: Timon/Zazu in Disney's first UK/Ireland tour of The Lion King (George played Timon before Sir Tim Rice at the Irish premiere); Benjamin in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (West End/UK national tour); Schlomo in Fame with Barbara Dickson; Rick in A Slice of Saturday Night with Norman Pace; Ko-Ko (u/s) in The Mikado (Carl Rosa USA/Canada tours),Mr Two/Shrdlu in the London premiere of Joshua Schmidt's Adding Machine: A Musical (Finborough Theatre); Patsy in Spamalot.
