Encore! Critically acclaimed New York jazz-pop stylist Richard Malavet returns with his must-see show Midnight Moods for one night only on Saturday, December 3 at 7:00 at the Metropolitan Room.

The Metropolitan Room is located at 34 West 22nd Street (between 5th & 6th Avenues.) There will be a $25 music charge and a 2-beverage minimum. Reservations/information: www.metropolitanroom.com or (212) 206 0440.

Multiple Grammy nominee John di Martino will serve as musical director for this unique showcase with Ed Howard on Bass. In previous shows, Mr. Malavet has paid homage to legends like Billy Eckstine and Frank Sinatra as well as the Great American and Latin-American songbooks and received rave reviews along with his extraordinary five-piece band. For this special evening, he has chosen an evening of intimate and personal favorites with piano and bass only to share with his fans. The show will include an eclectic mix of exceptional songs from the Great American Songbook as well as from the Broadway, pop and Latin-American canon of greats including gems like: "Why Shouldn't I?" (Porter), "Take the Moment" (Rodgers/Sondheim), "Piel Canela" (Bobby Capo) and "Fools Fall in Love" (Leiber & Stoller) for starters. The show will also feature many musical surprises including nods to greats like Burt Bacharach, Duke Ellington, Irving Berlin and the Gershwins.

When Richard brought his well-received Billy Eckstine tribute, "The Billy Eckstine Project: Songs in the Key of "B," to the Metropolitan Room this spring, Darryl Reilly wrote in TheaterScene.net: "As he did last year in his superb Frank Sinatra centennial tribute, Richard Malavet brought focus to a great artist, this time with perhaps even more impact, as many people may not be so familiar with Eckstine's accomplishments. Malavet's incomparable vocal and performing talents gloriously corrected this possible ignorance with his highly informative and very entertaining, The Billy Eckstine Songs in the Key of "B." The critics' continued to gush. Writing in Cabaret Scenes Magazine, Marilyn Lester said, "With standards such as "Always" and the closer, "Everything I Have Is Yours," Malavet showed how resplendent a voice can be... " And, Joe Regan, Jr. wrote in TheaterPizazz.com in praise of the Sinatra tribute: applauded "Malavet's great judgment, pulsating Latin beat and sensational band!"
