Acclaimed jazz vocalist Rebecca Kilgore, and the Harry Allen Jazz Quartet return to New York with a new show, "I Like Men -- Songs about Men from Tin Pan Alley to Broadway," for five nights at the Metropolitan Room from tonight, March 6 to March 10. Kilgore, known in jazz circles for her airborn and erudite stylings, is making her Metropolitan Room debut.

Portland Oregon based, Kilgore has been a standout in the Northwest jazz scene since the mid '80s, where she has led her own quintet, and performed and recorded with John Miller, Portland's Tall Jazz Trio, and Dave Frishberg among others. With The Harry Allen Jazz Quartet, she has made regular appearances in New York, notably at Feinstein's for the past three years.

Swing Bros. recording artist Harry Allen, tenor sax, is a NY Nightlife Award-winning performer who also records extensively, notably with John Pizzarelli. In 2010 Allen and Kilgore collaborated on "Some Like it Hot -- The Music of Marilyn Monroe," an eye-opening reassessment of screen siren Marilyn Monroe's musical abilities.

Allen's quartet features Ehud Asherie on piano, Kevin Kanner on drums and Joel Forbes on bass.

Rebecca Kilgore with the Harry Allen Jazz Quartet performs "I Like Men -- Songs about Men from Tin Pan Alley To Broadway" on five nights: tonight, March 6; Thursday March 7; Friday March 8; Saturday March 9, all at 9:30pm, and Sunday March 10 at 7pm & 9:30pm. There is a $30 music charge and a two-drink minimum. For reservations call the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street (between 5th & 6th Avenues), at 212/206-0440 or to order online visit www.metropolitanroom.com.
