Our Sinatra
Three of today's outstanding singers of the Great American Songbook (1 female, 2 male) playfully interact with one another, sharing their joy and passion for this great music as they lovingly sing the hits of Sinatra, individually and in combination, taking the audience back to relive their memories. The show includes over 50 songs interspersed with witty banter and humor. The show covers Sinatra's entire musical cannon from the classic ballads of the 40's to the saloon and torch songs, the 50's and 60's swingers and the all-time hits. Our Sinatra steers clear of imitation and impersonation as these accomplished performers deliver the great music of Sinatra. The New York Times calls Our Sinatra "An utterly winning tribute to Ol' Blue Eyes" and "Superior Entertainment."

Randy Rainbow's Pre-Inaugural Situation

The Marcus Roberts Trio & The Modern Jazz Generation
Known for its virtuosic style and entirely new approach, the members of The Marcus Roberts Trio share equally in shaping the direction of the music by changing its tempo, mood, texture, or form at any time. With lightning quick musical reflexes and creative imaginations, the trio are known for having almost telepathic communication on the stage and more than a few concert goers have been heard to say that they sound like a lot more than three people on stage.

Danny Bacher is a fresh new face on the jazz landscape. His clean, crisp delivery is reminiscent of the true greats in entertainment. An engaging stage presence, a smooth-as-silk voice, and the gift of a storyteller all come together to complete this package. Add to that his saxophone prowess and you have one of the hottest musicians on the scene today.

Among musicians, Karrin is known as a great bandleader and one of the deep pleasures of the current scene is listening to her highly developed interplay with her bandmates - it sounds so effortless - but it conceals a deep musical sophistication. It's one of Allyson's great achievements - the result of working over the years with an ensemble of fearless and powerfully committed jazz virtuosi. Karrin has also developed a unique relationship with the multi-talented L.A. composer Chris Caswell and the two have collaborated for nearly ten years as composers and performers in a very spirited ensemble featuring Caswell on Hammond B-3 organ. In fact, Karrin has been doing a lot of writing of late and promises an album of original songs in the near future.

Donny McCaslin Group with Jason Lindner, Tim Lefebvre and Mark Guiliana
Saxophonist Donny McCaslin and his band, featured on David Bowie's Blackstar, made their Motéma Music recording debut with the release of "Beyond Now," a highly anticipated album dedicated to Bowie. Recorded nearly three months after Bowie's passing, the project is deeply influenced by their extraordinary experience collaborating with one of the greatest artists of all-time on his final album.

The Story of Jazz celebrates the 100 birthday of jazz. 10-piece All-Star ensemble lead by Vincent Herring (alto sax) with Jon Faddis, Jeremy Pelt (trumpets), James Carter, Eric Alexander (tenor saxes), Steve Turre (trombone), Mike LeDonne (piano), David Williams (bass), Carl Allen (drums), Nicolas Bearde (vocals). The group will perform newly commissioned arrangements of classic jazz hits written by prominent artists from each decade of jazz history from 1917 to 2017.

Joey DeFrancesco Quartet
Joey DeFrancesco comes from a musical family. His Grandfather Joseph DeFrancesco (his name sake) was a reed man. His father "Papa" John DeFrancesco is a fine jazz organist in his own right. At the age of 4 Joey began taking a strong interest in the organ. By the time he was five, he was playing Jimmy Smith songs verbatim. His latest release "One For Rudy" is a tribute to the legendary recording engineer Rudy Van Gelder. Joey has played a key role in the development of numerous modern organs & keyboards that replicate the classic Hammond organ/Leslie speaker sound.

The Wee Trio CD Release + Special Guests
The Wee Trio, James Westfall (vibes), Dan Loomis (bass) + Jared Schonig (drums), proudly announce the 2016 release of their fifth recording, Wee + 3, recorded at Systems Two in Brooklyn, NY, and featuring three musicians who are near and dear to the members of the Trio; the legendary trumpeter/composer Nicholas Payton (tracks 4, 5 & 6), guitarist/composer Nir Felder (tracks 1, 10 & 11), and pianist/composer Fabian Almaza?n (tracks 2, 3 & 9). Inviting guests to join this established, working group was born out of the band's collective love of collaboration.

John Abercrombie Quartet with Marc Copland, Drew Gress, Joey Baron
In a career spanning more than 40 years and nearly 50 albums, John Abercrombie has established himself as one of the masters of jazz guitar. A restless experimenter, working firmly in the jazz tradition while pushing the boundaries of harmony and texture, Abercrombie has performed live and recorded with a long list of jazz greats including Gil Evans, Chico Hamilton, Jack DeJohnette, John Scofield and Richie Beirach. He has also enjoyed a 30+ year association with ECM Records. This engagement, celebrating Abercrombie's latest release for the esteemed label, "Within A Song," features tenor saxophonist Joe Lovano, "one of the most creative saxophonists going" (Boston Globe).

Arturo O'Farrill Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra
Grammy Award winning pianist, composer and educator Arturo O'Farrill -- leader of the "first family of Afro-Cuban Jazz" (NY Times) -- was born in Mexico and grew up in New York City. Son of the late, great composer Chico O'Farrill, Arturo was Educated at Manhattan School of Music, Brooklyn College Conservatory and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. He played piano in Carla Bley's Big Band from 1979 through 1983 and earned a reputation as a soloist in groups led by Dizzy Gillespie, Steve Turre, Freddy Cole, Lester Bowie, Wynton Marsalis and Harry Belafonte.

Named for alto saxophonist and jazz pioneer Charlie "Bird" Parker who dubbed it "The Jazz Corner of the World," Birdland opened on December 15th 1949. For 60 years it has been home to jazz legends, from Parker, John Coltrane Duke Ellington and Count Basie to Oscar Peterson, Hank Jones, Diana Krall and everyone in between. The original 52nd street location was a cultural barometer and meeting place, inspiring the songs "Birdland" and "Lullaby of Birdland," and serving as a regular haunt for celebrities and cultural figures.
