RISING STAR 4 Competition Continues at Rise Bar with Natalie Joy Johnson and More

The fourth season of the RISING STAR competition continues Tuesday, November 7th, at Rise Bar.

IT'S RAP WEEK! Singers compete in an 10-week elimination style contest for a $1,000 cash prize and a fully produced, paid solo show at Rise.

In addition to the cash and prize package, RISING STAR offers networking opportunities with celebrity judges, fantastic exposure, and valuable live stage experience.

Hosted by actress and comic Emily McNamara (NEWSICAL The Musical, Billy On The Street, HBO's Vinyl). Sound by DJTK. Special guest host and mentor Marty Thomas (WICKED, XANADU, Grace and Frankie).

Industry pros scheduled to appear as judges throughout the competition include Choreographer Shea Sullivan, Christine Dwyer (WICKED), Matt DeAngelis (WAITRESS), Alysha Umphress (ON THE TOWN), Musical Director Brad Simmons (LYSISTRATA JONES, FANCY), Mike Cruz (Whole Artist Management), Rich Martino (Whole Artist Management), Natalie Weiss (American Idol), Entertainment Magazine editor Ryan Brinson (BLEEP MAGAZINE), Pop Star Ari Gold, Paul Caanan (KINKY BOOTS), Sheri Sanders (ROCK THE AUDITION), Ryann Redmond (IF/THEN), Gabe Violett (THE VOICE), Nick Adams (PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT), Telly Leung (ALLEGIANCE), Director Ben Rimalower (PATTI ISSUES), Marty Thomas (XANADU), and more.

Natalie Joy Johnson
can currently be seen as 'Pat' in Cyndi Lauper's hit Broadway musical Kinky Boots. She can also be seen in Season 3 of Difficult People on HULU, and in the upcoming second season of HBO's High Maintenance. Additional credits include Legally Blonde (Broadway: Enid/Tour: Paulette), bare: a pop opera (Nadia), Southern Comfort (Cori), and Silence!. Natalie has sold out her solo cabaret shows at Joe's Pub, 54 Below, The Regency, Ars Nova, & The Duplex.

Kevin Smith Kirkwood
is an actor, drag performer, playwright, costume designer, and singer best known for his musical, Classic Whitney Alive!, in which he impersonates late singer, Whitney Houston; singing live versions of her classic songs. Kevin made his Broadway debut in the Tony award-winning musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and earned a 2005 New York Innovative Theater nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor for "It's Karate, Kid!." Kevin is currently starring on Broadway in Kinky Boots.

Rich Martino
is the Principal Manager at Whole Artist Management. Having always had a great passion for the arts Rich has made his mark as a manager, producer and director. As a Producer, Rich has been involved in numerous concerts in and out of New York City. Rich also served as Associate Producer of ACE (Signature Theatre, VA) and held an interest in the 2016 Broadway revival FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (The Broadway Theater).
