Pig Iron is proud to bring you In-Hog-Ural Ball, a glitzy, hope-and-change-fueled benefit cabaret and auction, guaranteed to set us up for a brand new era. For the Love of Pig Iron: In-Hog-Ural Ball will be held at the Trocadero Theatre, 1003 Arch Street, on Friday, January 16, 2009. Doors open at 7:00pm, show starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are a measly $20 before January 9, $30 afterwards. $75 preferred-seating tickets and $500 tables for 6 (including a pre-show reception with heavy appetizers and drinks) are also available.

For tickets or additional information, please call 215-627-1883 or visit www.pigiron.org.

We'll make history, wearing giant bustles, hoop skirts, top-hats and tails. And that's just the first act! Some more mind-blowing entertainments await:

So talented, they can reach across any aisle with the greatest of ease:
* The gorgeous drag danseuses of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, the all-male prima ballerina company from New York; a Trock within a Troc!
* The guffaw-inducing hijinks of the Giant Squid
* Nichole Canuso Dance Company
* Mike Kiley of The Mural and the Mint
* Bradford Trojan of THE LUCIA JOYCE CABARET
* Old friend James Sugg, bringing us a harrowing musical tale from his original work The Sea.
* The City Singers Choir
* Philly Circus School
* That urban country songbird Amy Pickard
* Amy Smith of Headlong Dance Theater
* Sparky the Dog act

What's an In-hog-ural Ball without extraordinary fashion?:

* Pig Iron's first ever Project Runway Contest pits three local designers against each other in a battle to see who can dress that most feminine of First Ladies, Martha Graham-Cracker

On hand, as usual, will be our own national treasures:
Dito van Reigersberg as Miss Martha Graham Cracker CITY PAPER's READER'S CHOICE for BEST DRAG ACT 2006 And Your host and speaker of the house, Quinn "Yes We Can" Bauriedel

Backed by The In-Hog-Ural Orchestra, with Andrew Nelson, Ned Sonstein, and Victor "Wictor" Fiorillo.

And that's not all!

The silent auction will go all night with three big prizes that will be live-auctioned during the show by host Quinn Bauriedel, including a week's vacation at a country house on the Maryland Shore, and a private party for thirty at Beau Monde serenaded by Martha Graham-Cracker and her band. Other auction items include: investment coaching services, dinners for two at Center City restaurants, spa treatments, a signed Eagles football, and on and on.

And the Trocadero will provide a special drink for the occasion, "The Swearing-In." We can't tell you what's in it, but its stronger than veto power and lasts longer than a filibuster.

All proceeds go to the non-profit Pig Iron Theatre Company, Philadelphia's rascally & world-renowned theatre troupe, last seen in Chekhov Lizardbrain, our bizarre meditation of brains and loneliness that took New York City by storm this fall. Pig Iron combines the experimental, the whimsical, and the very good-looking for theatre that pushes your buttons and tickles your fancies.

NOTE: Get your tickets early; last year The Swining was a sold-out bonanza that broke attendance records and literally packed the Trocadero to its gills. This year's cabaret promises to be no different.

All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
