Talk about saving the day! When a presenter canceled a show at the last minute, singer William Blake came to Birdland's rescue in true showbiz fashion. In two short weeks, he concocted a concert and a sold-out house, which might be a Broadway at Birdland record. Scroll down for photos!
"Echoes of Etta II" was a continuation of the Etta James tribute William has been performing 'round the country - along with musical director Mike Murray, an extraordinary band (Brad Meehan, Lavondo Thomas, Matthew Polashek, and The Peaches, his beautiful, talented backup singers (Ashley Betton, Shira Elias & Stephany Mora). The Broadway at Birdland concert series takes place every Monday at Birdland (315 West 44 Street, NYC) at 7pm. Jim Caruso's Cast Party follows at 9:30pm. Photo Credit: Seth Walters
