The Broadway at Birdland concert series was presented the 2012 BroadwayWorld Best Male Vocalist winner William Blake in concert on Monday, July 22nd at 7pm. It was Blake's sixth concert at the historic venue. Tony winners and Birdland regulars Chita Rivera and Steve Kazee were both in the house to cheer! Scroll down for photos from the concert!

The evening was a celebration of Blake's birthday, and included songs by some of Blake's favorite musical artists, including Damien Rice, Dori Caymmi, Prince, Michael Jackson, Nikka Costa and more. Joining him on stage for the festivities were musical director/arranger Michael Thomas Murray (Forever Dusty) on keys, Danny Young (American Idiot national tour, TV's "Smash") on percussion, Randy Napoleon (Michael Bublé, Freddy Cole) on guitar, Mike Preen (touring with Flashdance the Musical) on bass, The Peaches, and special guest vocalist, Jane Monheit.

William recently performed the hit show (along with co-creator Mr. Murray) Echoes of Etta at Birdland Jazz Club (where the show originated), Joe's Pub (where it received a Time Out New York Critics' Pick) and the prestigious Café Carlyle. The show was also nominated for Best Tribute at the 2012 BroadwayWorld Cabaret Awards and made several Top Ten Best Show lists in 2012.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series takes place every Monday at Birdland, 315 West 44 Street in NYC.
