Last night, October 7, Well-Strung plucked the heartstrings of the audience at Feinstein's/54 Below performing a concert celebrating the release of their 2nd studio album POPssical. Scroll down for photos from the concert!
The group started off with their playful take on Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe (Feat. Brandenburg)." They continued with an intricate version of Gotye's hit song "Somebody That I Used To Know" mashed up with Ravel's String Quartet. The group also played songs from their album including "Wrecking Ball (Feat. Grieg)," "Blank Space (Feat. Bach)," and "With or Without You / Try" with personal anecdotes sprinkled between songs. After showing their viral hit video "Chelsea's Mom," the bonus track to their album, Well-Strung played a brand new song, "21 Guns (Feat. Pachelbel's Canon in D)" which moved audience members to tears.
To celebrate the finale of the show, the group surprised 54 Below by passing out popsicles to everyone in attendance. "Please enjoy these frozen treats, while we play for you a frozen treat," said Chris Marchant as the group started playing a medley from Disney's FROZEN. Thunderous applause and standing ovation lead to an encore where the guys showed their comedic side with a hilarious performance of "Do-Re-Mi" from THE SOUND OF MUSIC.
