The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present stage and screen star Erich Bergen ("Madam Secretary," "Jersey Boys"), who joined forces with American jazz pianist Angelo Di Loreto in concert on Sunday and Monday, December 27 and 28. Bergen, Di Loreto and bassist Ethan O'Reilly performed an intimate evening of songs from the Great American Songbook, as well as some classics of 20th Century pop music. Special guests included Jane Monheit and Jessica Keenan Wynn. Scroll down for photos!
Erich Bergen, best known for his performance as Bob Gaudio in the Clint Eastwood film "Jersey Boys" and the current hit CBS drama "Madam Secretary," has been bringing his dry wit and smooth vocals to the Birdland stage both in concert and at the open mic Cast Party for over a decade. Pianist Angelo Di Loreto's musicianship was recently described as "quite sublime" by theworldmusicreport.com, and "among the most sturdy, rich and mature" players in the 2012 Nottingham International Jazz Piano Competition.
The Broadway at Birdland concert series celebrates singers and songwriters from the Great White Way, as well as artists from the jazz, cabaret, country, pop and comedy worlds. Birdland is located at 315 West 44 Street in the heart of Manhattan's theater district. See www.BirdlandJazz.com for upcoming shows.
