The West End Lounge and producer Ian Connor played host on Sunday, August 19, 2018 to the world premiere cabaret of The Early Night Show LIVE! created, written, directed and performed by Joshua Turchin and Mckayla Twiggs. The young comedy duo drew lots of laughs and applause throughout their cabaret featuring music, sketch comedy, improv, and special guests.
As part of the 70 minute cabaret, highlights included Mckayla Twiggs' brilliant acoustic version of the hit Ariana Grande song, "No Tears Left To Cry", accompanied by Joshua Turchin. Joshua Turchin's vocal and piano performance of "Michael In The Bathroom" from the hit off Broadway musical Be More Chill had the audience roaring with applause. The duo harmonized beautifully on several songs including "Falling Slowly" from Once the Musical, the show which marked Mckayla's Broadway debut years ago.
Special guest and Broadway veteran Rachel Resheff wowed the audience with her rendition of "Reflection" from Mulan, with Joshua Turchin accompanying her. The audience received another special surprise when Broadway's Michael Thatcher joined Joshua Turchin and Mckayla Twiggs during their performance of "Alone In The Universe" from Seussical the Musical.
The show included additional songs, including Turchin's original score of "The Princess Song", as well as skits, tap dance break and more fun involving audience participation.
