After the successful sold-out shows "Doris Dear's Gurl Talk" & "The Doris Dear Christmas Special", Ray DeForest was back in "The Doris Dear Mother's Day Special: Like Mother Like Daughter" on May 12th. BroadwayWorld has photos from the concert below!

Doris was in the rumpus room for a one night only event where she celebrated her mother Taffy and other mothers along with her special guests, Lina Koutrakos, Meg Flather, Stacy Sullivan and Shaynee Rainbolt. It was a personal and poignant celebration of Taffy, her mother, and mother's everywhere. Numbers like "Just a Housewife," and "Becoming My Mother" brought smiles as well as tears from the crowd that packed the rumpus room.

Doris' guests shared stories and songs about their moms and how mother's affect each of us. Doris finished her show by playing a recording of a conversation she had with her mother days before she passed away from Alzheimer's Disease. This was followed by a tearful, gut wrenching rendition of "Mama A Rainbow" for which she received a standing ovation. Doris Dear once again shows us the she is the Greatest American Housewife.

The show is written and performed by Dramatist Guild member and SAG/AFTRA National LGBT Board Member Ray DeForest and inspired by the great musical TV specials that were the standard of TV watching in the 50's, 60's and 70's!

Doris Dear, the inner Housewife of Ray DeForest, has been featured in movies (Men in Black 3, The Normal Heart) and TV shows (The Carrie Diaries, Boardwalk Empire) and has toured with "her" successful show "Doris Dear's Gurl Talk". Ray has been performing professionally for 37 years around the world in tours, stage shows, revues and hosted multiple TV shows on major networks. Ray is currently collaborating on a new Broadway musical heading to Broadway next season and developing a show for the West End of London!
