The first part of Cabaret Cares - "Help is On the Way: An Evening of Song" - was presented at the Laurie Beechman Theater on July 30th.
The hit 2005 series returns this summer with some of Broadway's and cabaret's most talented performers. Cabaret Cares is produced by Joseph Macchia with associate producers Robert Fowler and Angie C. Creighton of the Broadway hit The Producers. The series will benefit the AIDS organizations Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS and Help Is On The Way Today. Broadway Cares is the nations leading industry based fund raising and grant making organization. Help Is On The Way Today assists children living with HIV and AIDS in the Tri-State Area.
On July 30th at 7PM, "Help Is On The Way: An Evening of Song" was presented. The evening featured performances by JoAnne Worley (The Drowsy Chaperone, "Laugh-In"), Frank Galgano (Naked Boys Singing), Heather Parcells (A Chorus Line), Robert Fowler (The Producers), Liz McKendry (The Producers), Stacey Todd Holt (The Producers), and Peter Gregus (Jersey Boys), as well as cabaret performers Leslie Anderson (MAC Award Winner) and Peter Mac. On August 27th at 7pm, "Judy and Me" will be performed by Mac as part f Cabaret Cares. The casts of Jersey Boys and Naked Boys Singing, as well as Divapalooza 8, will be featured in September.
