With many accolades and vocal comparisons to Janis Joplin,Sheryl Crowe and Carole King (Huffington Post), Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Sarah Dashew has carved out a strong niche on the independent music scene. Sarah writes her own songs, which show strength mixed with a sweet fragility, depth with a sense of humor, all hallmarks of the singer's signature style. One can relate to her music, her smoky vocal style and her blonde, signature curls, which show her wonderful personality. Her performance at 54 Belowon Tuesday, June 17th 9:30 pm is one that is not to be missed!

Sarah Dashew's latest extended play "Something in the Weather" following her third solo album, shows how she draws upon influences as diverse as James Taylor and Prince; her unique style walks a fine line between folk, pop, country and soul. Intensely vulnerable and physical on stage, Sarah pulls the audience in with her incredible LIVE! performance, locking eyes, her hair whipping every which way as she lives her songs and invites you to do the same. Each song tells a different story that needs to be told.

You may already be familiar with Sarah; her first album "Jealous Girl" was applauded by reviewers who called her work "rhythmic and super-fresh". Two singles off the album were featured on the hit NBC program "My Name is Earl".

Sarah Dashew grew up sailing the high seas with her family (her dad is a boat designer). She acknowledged music as her calling after seeing a gospel concert while attending college. Mentored and developed by legendary producer Chuck Plotkin (Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan), Sarah Dashew has garnered unanimous praise both for her recordings and live shows.
