Maxine Linehan brought a St. Patrick's EVE pride in her Irish roots to the Feinstein's/54 Below stage with her show "One: The Songs of U2". A veteran of numerous performances at the club, this was her 3rd incarnation of the tribute show in the venue.
Directed by Scott Siegel, the evening's band consisted of Ryan Shirar (MD/Arranger/Pianist), Ben Lively (Violin), Sarah Hewitt-Roth (cello), Kate Spingarn (Cello), Corey Shutzer (Bass), Clayton Craddock (Drums), & Andrew Koss (Guitar).
The evening kicked off with "Beautiful Day" followed immediately by celebrating with "New York".
It was a relief to her husband/guitarist Andrew when she followed a stunning "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by letting everyone know she HAS found it.
All the better & lesser known tunes of Dublin's U2 band were represented in the evening by this Irish-American singer from Cork. The soaring "Pride", driving "Angel of Harlem", inspirational "Walk On", and a searing take on "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" were a few highlights in a show full of hits.
This singer who embodies the American Songbook, Broadway Show tunes, & the Irish Rock genre finished the evening with "One". Maxine left the audience with that "one" more song as she brings this show to a close and now embarks on a new path of songwriting her own material with her clear and unique voice.
