The Berkshires is one of the most beautiful and cultural geographical places in the United States. It's hills have been the playpen of artists, actors, and musicians since the 1920's. The area welcomed one of our generations finest pop/jazz vocalists this weekend in Mr. Finn's Cabaret at Barrington Stage Co.

Marilyn Maye, the queen of cabaret, the favorite of Johnny Carson and Steve Allen and of every connoisseur of The Great American Songbook finally made it up to Leonard Bernstein country in this, the 100th anniversary of The Maestro's birth. Barrington Stage Co. is also celebrating this momentous year with West Side Story on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage and Marilyn Maye was a significant musical addition to the spectacular season in Mr. Finn's Cabaret.
William Finn's room has been the performance space graced by some of the finest voices from Broadway/Nightclubs and Marilyn, (as she does all over the world) thrilled Mr. Finn's audience with her spectacular performance. Her music director and pianist for the evening was and is one of the countries leading musicians... Tedd Firth. Tom Hubbard was on bass and Daniel Glass on drums.
Connecticut School of Broadcasting founder and Chairman of The Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook Dick Robinson was in Mr. Finn's for the event. Music lovers world-wide will be hearing "The Old Jock" Dick talk about Marilyn's engagement at Barrington Stage on his Palm Beach Florida based Legends Radio Station. You can hear the music and all about it on http://www.yachtamusic.com/.
