There was More Music by Alex Rybeck at 54 Below last night and BroadwayWorld was there.
Best known as the highly sought-after pianist/arranger for vocalists such as Liz & Ann Hampton Callaway, Faith Prince, Jeff Harnar & many others, Alex is also a prolific composer, mentored by Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim & Stephen Schwartz. After a sold out 54 Below debut, Rybeck brought a new night of music to the stage. The concert showcased his own compositions, featuring some pretty amazing vocalists and musicians. Alex's recorded songs include "What a Funny Boy He Is" (Nancy LaMott) and "Bless Your Heart" (Faith Prince), and he's written with collaborators as diverse as the great Michael Stewart, Carol Hall, Ira Gasman, among others.
