Luba Mason returns her "Collage" tour to the Metropolitan Room now through March 3.
"The Collage collection is a labor of love for Luba, a native New Yorker, who earned the attention of her peers and the industry moguls alike. The Collage Tour celebrates the release of her debut CD Collage (PS Classics)," explain press notes, "Drawing from her Slovak roots, classical training, Broadway background and integrated pop, jazz and Latin rhythms's Luba Mason has created a debut recording that accurately reflects her high energy and eclectic nature."
Luba starred on Broadway in the musical Chicago in the role of the notorious Velma Kelly. Previously, Luba played starring roles on Broadway in Jekyll & Hyde, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (opposite Matthew Broderick), Paul Simon's The Capeman, Trevor Nunn's Sunset Boulevard and the Tony winning The Will Roger's Follies, directed by Tommy Tune. Recently, she starred opposite Val Kilmer in the American premiere of The Ten Commandments at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles and appeared as a lesbian sex worker on NBC prime time series "Raines" starring Jeff Goldblum.
She has performed her club act to sold out audiences at Los Angeles' famed Cinegrill and Vibrato clubs, in addition to New York at Opia and Cafe Versilles in 2006. In 2007 the white-hot Collage Tour gained momentum as Luba headlined at the Exit Theater in San Francisco, Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles, and Davenport's in Chicago and the Metropolitan Room in New York City and many other U.S. venues.
