Tedd Firth directed Sherrie Maricle and the Diva Jazz Orchestra in a great Jazz tribute to New York City which captured it's heart, soul, sights and sounds with music and lyrics by Ken Laub and arrangements by Mr. Firth.
The four vocalists who soloed, harmonized, and narrated the extraordinary concert are some of the best Jazz singers in the country. Along with the AIG Private Client Group audience, former New York City Mayor David Dinkins, a Jazz aficionado was swinging to the music.
There were plenty of great new sounds from Clint Holmes, Natalie Douglas, Veronica Swift and Nicolas King in "New York Old Friend" and it just might be traveling to a city near you.
