Andréa Burns (original Daniela from IN THE HEIGHTS and currently starring in ON YOUR FEET!) presented a hilarious and moving evening that explored finding a state of grace at 40, while reasserting that Latinas don't play, at Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, on November 9, 16 and December 14, 2015.
Weaving Broadway with pop culture, Andrea performed tunes by Sara Bareilles, Stephen Sondheim, Celia Cruz, Peter Gabriel, and more as she teamed up with Tony and Grammy-Award winning music director of HAMILTON, Alex Lacamoire.
Andréa Burns plays Feinstein's/54 Below (254 West 54th Street). Andréa Burns is an Drama Desk Award-winning actress and singer, best known for her portrayal of the saucy hairdresser Daniela in Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony Award-winning musical IN THE HEIGHTS and as Carmen in THE NANCE, alongside Nathan Lane. She has been featured in Broadway's THE RITZ, THE FULL MONTY and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. She was also in the original company of Jason Robert Brown's critically acclaimed SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD and has since become one of the foremost interpreters of his work. She portrayed Lucille Frank in the national tour of Jason Robert Brown's PARADE, directed by Harold Prince, for which she received a Touring Broadway Awards nomination for Best Actress. She was also selected by Stephen Sondheim to create the role of Celeste in SATURDAY NIGHT at Second Stage Theatre. Her TV/film credits include: Netflix's JESSICA JONES, LAW & ORDER: SVU, RESCUE ME, THE ELECTRIC COMPANY, WONDER PETS, and most recently as Lenora in the 2015 film AKRON. Her solo album "A Deeper Shade of Red" is available on iTunes. Andréa is currently starring on Broadway in Gloria Estefan's biographical musical ON YOUR FEET!
