The 24th New York Cabaret Convention ended its week with a special afternoon event at 54 Below! The event, produced by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, began with The New York Times's Stephen Holden interviewing jazz legend and original female be-bop pianist Barbara Carroll.
The audience was treated to a performance by Marissa Mulder, Liam Forde, Joanne Tatham, and Alex Leonard. Then a panel discussion with some more of theatre's most influential journalists, including Will Friedwald (The Wall Street Journal), Adam Feldman (Time Out New York), David Finkle (Village Voice), and David Hajdu (The New Republic) - It was moderated by KT Sullivan. Cabaret: Past, Present, and Future was a rare treat for cabaret lovers, as it featured the spectrum of tried-and-true legends and rising stars!
