Two time Grammy nominee Violinist Philippe Quint and Tenor Saxophonist Harry Allen to join Emily Bergl in her cabaret show, "Kidding on the Square," at NYC's Laurie Beechman Theatre
Two time Grammy award nominee Violinist Philippe Quint has emerged in recent years as one of the world's premiere young soloists. Highlights of his 2010/11 season include debuts with Berlin Komische Oper Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, San Diego Symphony, and an 18 concert US tour with Cape Town Philharmonic. Mr. Quint is a Founder and Artistic Director of the Mineria Chamber Music Festival. Swing Bros. recording artist Harry Allen has over thirty recordings to his name. Three of Harry's CDs have won Gold Disc Awards from Japan's Swing Journal Magazine, and his CD "Tenors Anyone?" won both the Gold Disc Award and the New Star Award.
"Kidding on the Square," is an evening of old fashioned love songs with a twist, told from the perspective of a modern girl and the eccentric characters she inhabits. The show revolves around classic songs from the 1920's and 30's, but also presents vintage retakes on modern favorites from Lily Allen to Madonna.
"Kidding on the Square" has played to sold out audiences in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego and Seattle.WHEN
