Peter Gallagher to Bring HOW'D ALL YOU PEOPLE GET IN MY ROOM? to Segerstrom, 2/13-15

Segerstrom Center for the Arts continues its Cabaret Series February 13 - 15 with Tony Award-nominated stage, screen and film actor and singer Peter Gallagher making his Center debut in his critically acclaimed cabaret show, How'd All You People Get In My Room?. In this engaging evening of music and conversation, Gallagher shares real-life stories from his early days as a young actor in New York to working with legends such as Jack Lemmon, Tom Stoppard, Mike Nichols, Robert Altman, Peter O'Toole and more. Performing in Samueli Theater, Gallagher and his band will bring these experiences to life with songs from Broadway, the hit television show The O.C. and classics by Sammy Cahn, Jules Styne, Burt Bacharach and Van Morrison.

Peter Gallagher is a triple threat who began in theater and progressed into film and television. He made his professional stage debut in the Broadway revival of Hair, followed by his role as Danny Zuko in the original Broadway production of Grease. Additional theater credits include The Corn is Green alongside Cicely Tyson, the Harold Prince production of A Doll's Life, Guys and Dolls (for which he received a Drama Desk nomination), Long Day's Journey Into Night opposite Jack Lemmon (for which he received a Tony Award nomination) and Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing. In 2001, Gallagher starred on Broadway in The Royal National Theatre's hit revival of Noises Off and off-Broadway in The Exonerated in the next year. In 2008, he returned to Broadway in Mike Nichols' production of The Country Girl, which also starred Frances McDormand and Morgan Freeman.

In addition to the stage, Gallagher has amassed a successful film career working alongside some of the best talent in Hollywood dating back to his 1980 screen debut in Taylor Hackford's The Idolmaker. Since then, he has teamed with director Steven Soderbergh three times, first on the groundbreaking independent feature Sex, Lies, and Videotape, which earned Soderbergh and Gallagher international critical acclaim, followed by The Underneath and Fallen Angels. Gallagher also gave memorable performances in such acclaimed films by Robert Altman as The Player and Short Cuts, for which he received a Golden Globe Award, and Mrs. Parker and The Vicious Circle. Gallagher received a Screen Actors Guild Award for his role as Buddy Kane in the Academy Award-winning American Beauty.

Other films include Dreamchild, High Spirits, Bob Roberts, Watch It, The Hudsucker Proxy, While You Were Sleeping, To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday, The Man Who Knew Too Little, Center Stage, Mr. Deeds, Burlesque, Tony Goldwyn's Conviction, Adam and last season's Step Up Revolution.

Gallagher currently stars on television as Arthur Campbell in the international spy drama Covert Affairs. He also starred as SAndy Cohen for four successful seasons on Fox Network's The O.C., during which he first worked with Covert Affairs producers Doug Liman and Dave Bartis. Since then, Gallagher has starred as Dean Koons opposite David Duchovny on the hit Californication, Father Phil on Denis Leary's Rescue Me and Vince on Whitney.

As a singer, Gallagher recorded 7 Days in Memphis for Epic Records and is heard on the soundtracks for Pal Joey, Guys and Dolls, A Doll's Life and others.
