Black, Blind and Beautiful, Peggy Easton's robust and gorgeous style will enthrall everyone who hears her. Once again, she is directed by ten-time MAC winner Lennie Watts -- and after two successful outings on June 9th and June 15th, Peggy is back again tonight, July 23rd.
Peggy Eason, known on the cabaret scene since 2009, is once again bringing her show to "Don't Tell Mama"'s famous Manhattan cabaret stage. Her show's theme "I'll Show Them All!" is one of insouciance, defiance and sheer fun! She is ready to show her audiences what she is all about with many stories to tell through her word pictures and soaring melodies. Miss Eason has thrilled audiences throughout New York with her version of"Defying Gravity" (Wicked), among other songs.
Miss Eason, blind since birth, has never let that interrupt her work or life. She has had an illustrious and varied career. She grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Mount Vernon, New York. An accomplished vocalist, Miss Eason is classically trained and began singing professionally from a very young age. She earned her Master's Degree in Voice and Music Education from the Manhattan School of Music, and pursued a career early on as a lyric soprano, singing in churches, at corporate and private events while working for the Division of Parole for the State of New York.
In 2009 Miss Eason opted for a full-time career as a cabaret performer and the rest is history! She recently wowed the crowds at the Tudor City Greens concerts in May, and she has been asked to close the Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention for 2014, Celebrating Irving Berlin. on October 23, 2014.
Mr. Lennie Watts: Miss Eason has the good fortune to be joined by celebrated director Lennie Watts. Mr. Watts is a ten-time MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) five-time Backstage Bistro and three-time Nightlife Award winner. Recognized as an outstanding vocalist, director and producer, he has been active on the New York scene for over 25 years. In addition to directing in smaller cabaret venues, Mr. Watts is known for his work at Symphony Space, Town Hall and B.B. Kings. He has toured both nationally and internationally in productions of "The Music Man", "The Wizard of Oz", "The Drowsy Chaperone" and "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum".

Miss Peggy Eason's Musical Director and pianist will be Mr. Steven Ray Watkins at "Don't Tell Mama" for "I'll Show Them All!" Mr. Watkins is the winner of three MAC Awards and two Bistro Awards for his work in the New York cabaret community. He has been playing the piano for 46 years and has been a working musician for 42 years. As a musician he has worked with many artists, including Patti LuPone, Hugh Jackman, Beyonce, Amanda McBroom, and Karen Mason.
