Coming up this week, 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond. 54 Below also launched its series of late night events. Joining Tuesday nights' popular "Backstage" with Susie Mosher is 15:54, and more:

Audiences can prepare to swoon as the Tony-winning star of South Pacific headlines 54 Below for a week-long engagement. In this brand new show, the Brazilian opera star presents a program of cherished classics from the American Songbook, as well as Brazilian and jazz favorites. Paulo is one of the most versatile and extraordinary singers to be heard today. It'll be some enchanted evening, be sure! Cover charge $40-50 for 8/5, 8/7 & 8/11 & cover charge $60-70 for 8/8-8/10. $25 food & beverage minimum.

Many performers understudy lead roles and rehearse weekly, preparing for their moment in the spotlight. But what if their moment never arrives? "Not At This Performance" features those understudies finally playing those roles for the first time in front of a live audience. Featuring music from Hairspray, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Rent, Sister Act, Spring Awakening, Xanadu, and more. Starring: ?Paul Castree, ?Robi Hager?, Jesse JP Johnson, ?Veronica Kuehn, ?Bethany Moore, ?Libby Servais, ?Taylor Trensch, and ?Donna Vivino! Cover charge $15-25. $25 food & beverage minimum.

WBGO JAZZ SERIES: Maucha Adnet & HELIO ALVES WITH SPECIAL GUESTS Cyro Baptista & Anat Cohen, August 6 at 7PM & 9PM
Maucha Adnet, who sang with grand maestro Antonio Carlos Jobim for the last ten years of his storied life, brings her radiant vocal style to the stage with her long-time musical partner Helio Alves, the little giant of Brazilan jazz piano. Joining them are master of tropical percussion Cyro Baptista and, for 2-3 songs per set, the great israeli saxophonist and clarinetist Anat Cohen. $25-35 cover charge. $15 food & beverage minimum.

LATE NIGHT: BACKSTAGE, August 6 at 10:30PM:
Each week, Broadway cast members and audiences alike gather to mix and mingle at 54 Below, Broadway's most intimate haunt, located in the heart of the theatre district. Musical Director Brad Simmons keeps the house jumping from the piano, while host Susie Mosher (the love child of Joanne Worley & Paul Lynde)guides the crowd through an evening of music, mayhem and full throttle belting, with special guests from Broadway and beyond dropping in to perform. NPR had this to say: "The best thing happening right now might just be the weekly Backstage. Hosted by the ridiculously funny Susie Mosher and pianist Brad Simmons who clearly is the man, it's two feel-good hours among New York's theater people, who seem like they're having a really fine time. Can't recommend it highly enough!" BROADWAY SWINGS, August 7 at 9:30PM:
Broadway Swings features some of Broadway's most delectable tunes, arranged in a way that will leave your toes tapping long after the house lights come up. Expect melodies from Broadway hits such as Porgy & Bess, The Wiz, Pippin, Hello, Dolly, South Pacific, The King & I and more! Featured in the cast are some of New York's most celebrated vocalists, including multiple award-winning jazz singers Natalie Douglas, Terese Genecco & Scott Coulter. Accompanied by the acclaimed jazz band, The Barry Levitt Trio, Broadway Swings is directed and hosted by 54 Below's own Director of Programming, Phil Geoffrey Bond. LATE NIGHT: THE STUDIO: BROADWAY TRIVIA NIGHT, August 7 at 11:30PM:

WBGO JAZZ SERIES: CHICO PINHEIRO AND THE BRAZILIAN DREAM BAND, August 8 & 11 at 9:30PM, August 9 & 10 at 11PM:
One of the major creative forces in modern Brazilian music, the brilliant guitarist/singer/composer/arranger Chico Pinheiro entrances audiences all over the world with his intensely lyrical and rhythmically exciting mixture of samba, swing, Carnaval and contemporary jazz. For his debut performances at 54 Below, Chico will be featuring the extraordinary young vocalist Luciana Alves. Cover charge $25-35. $15 food & beverage minimum.

LATE NIGHT: 15:54, August 8 at 11PM:
"In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes." 15:54 unlocks the doors on a weekly Thursday Party at 54 Below featuring the best of New York City's cutting edge nightlife. Reinventing the magic of Studio 54, resident artists, performers, and DJ's will serve you 15 minute sets at 54 Below. This week's host,Bridget Everett, welcomes Lance Horn, Errickson Wilcox and surprise guests. $15 cover includes your first drink (well, wine, or beer).
