Get ready for an unforgettable night of laughter and music.
THE GREEN ROOM 42 will present the return of actor and writer Paul Iacono, best known for the films Fame, G.B.F., and MTV’s “The Hard Times Of RJ Berger,” in “Paul Iacono, Unfiltered,” a bawdy evening of excess and exposé on Thursday, September 7 at 9:30 PM. Join Paul for a surreal vaudevillian celebration through the highs, lows, and misadventures from his past five years out of the spotlight. Paul weaves insanely personal and wildly hilarious moments from Hollywood to 42nd Street and beyond, joined by a cast of New York personalities as surprise special guests. The evening is written and performed by Paul Iacono, and features music direction by Drew Wutke, with music consulting and additional arrangements by Peter Saxe.
Paul Iacono, a graduate of Manhattan’s Professional Performing Arts High School, is best known for his portrayal of the title character on MTV’s “The Hard Times of RJ Berger.” Paul was first featured on “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” at age eight, after she discovered his unique talents for impersonating Frank Sinatra and Ethel Merman. Favorite stage credits include Mercury Fur (The New Group), Bridget Everett’s Rock Bottom (Joe’s Pub), Noël Coward’s Sail Away with Elaine Stritch (Carnegie Hall), John Guare’s Landscape of the Body with Lili Taylor and Sherie Rene Scott (Signature Theater), and The Dark at the Top of the Stairs with Donna Lynne Champlin and Michele Pawk (Transport Group). Favorite film credits include MGM’s remake of Fame, Drew Barrymore’s Animal, Darren Stein’s G.B.F., Extracurricular Activities, and Dating My Mother with Kathy Najimy. Happening Gallery. MARK Arthur Miller
“Soul Searching”
*Livestream Available*
“Soul Searching” is an energetic, rhythmic, sexy dive into the music of Detroit, Motown and of Ron Miller, who happens to have been Mark’s dad and writer of the classic, “For Once in My Life,” memorably recorded by Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett and 200 others. While his dad was in Detroit writing music at Motown for Stevie, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight and many more, Mark was growing up 300 miles away in Chicago, unaware his dad was a successful hitmaker. Miller weaves a true-life tale of his soulful affair with the music he describes as “part of his DNA.” It was the soundtrack of his life growing up on Chicago’s South Side, where he struck a goldmine of cultural experience. Mark later discovered his dad’s name on a 45rpm record. Reconnected with the elder Miller, a bond was formed, and through Ron’s work Mark frequently found himself in the company of idols Stevie, Smokey, Diana, and more. “Soul Searching” includes the music of Ron Miller, other Motown favorites, and original music by Mark Arthur Miller.
