Coming up this week, 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond. 54 Below also launched its series of late night events. Joining Tuesday nights' popular "Backstage" with Susie Mosher is the "54 Piano Bar," a new vocal competition - "The Callback," and more:

Patti LuPone, July 22, 24, 25 at 7PM, July 25 at 9:30PM, July 26 & 27 at 8:30PM & July 27 at 11PM:
54 Below is delighted to welcome back "our girl singer," two-time Tony winner Patti LuPone. Join Patti for a rare NY performance of her critically acclaimed show, Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda..... played that part. She'll perform songs from roles she coulda played, woulda played, if someone had just asked her or shoulda played, except she's not a boy. Patti will sing treasures from such classic Broadway musicals as Hair, Bye Bye Birdie, Funny Girl, West Side Story, Kiss Me Kate and Peter Pan. Sondheim will be sprinkled in as well as some surprises you'd never expect her to sing because she'd never be cast in the part. Whether she's belting out those pesky high D's in Evita or caressing us with a love song, an evening at 54 Below with Patti is an experience never to be forgotten. DREW BRODY, July 22 at 9:30PM:
Join Drew Brody and some of Broadway's finest performers, including: Alan Cumming (Macbeth, Cabaret), Robert Cuccioli (Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark, Jekyll and Hyde), Ana Nogueira (In the Heights first national tour, The Michael J. Fox Show), Emma Hunton (Spring Awakening, Next to Normal tour), John Arthur Greene (Matilda), Becca Ayers (The Addams Family, South Pacific), Amal Bouhabib (from the band Wilderlands), and a special collaboration with composer Lance Horne. LATE NIGHT: THE CALLBACK OPEN CALL, July 22 at 11:00PM
This spring, we were floored by the talent that we saw in The Callback... and we just couldn't wait until the fall to see more! For two weeks only, we are reuniting our favorite former contestants and opening up our stage to new singers to show us what they've got at "The Callback: Open Call." Open Call will be completely non-competitive and all performances will be filmed for contestant's use. Videos for those who have not already competed will be able to be used as their audition video for future installations of The Callback! Featuring: Kimbre Lancaster, Ashley Dillard, Lynn Craig, Casey Erin Clark, The Pair, Gina Santare, Jon Viktor Corpuz, Kevin Schuering, Janelle Rintrona, Bruce Landry, and Zi Alikhan. WGBO JAZZ SERIES: TIA FULLER QUARTET & SPECIAL GUESTS, July 23 at 7PM & 9PM
Both as a full-time member of the all-female band playing with the pop phenomenon singer and force of nature and show business Beyonce, and through the red-hot hard bop she plays regularly with trumpeter Sean Jones, drummer Kimberly Thompson, and the other great young swingmeisters Tia regularly plays and records with, Mack Avenue reocrding artist Tia Fuller's music runs the full gamut of the contemporary jazz experience. LATE NIGHT: BACKSTAGE, July 23 at 10:30PM:
Each week, Broadway cast members and audiences alike gather to mix and mingle at 54 Below, Broadway's most intimate haunt, located in the heart of the theatre district. Musical Director Brad Simmons keeps the house jumping from the piano, while host Susie Mosher (the love child of Joanne Worley & Paul Lynde) guides the crowd through an evening of music, mayhem and full throttle belting, with special guests from Broadway and beyond dropping in to perform. NPR had this to say: "The best thing happening right now might just be the weekly Backstage. Hosted by the ridiculously funny Susie Mosher and pianist Brad Simmons who clearly is the man, it's two feel-good hours among New York's theater people, who seem like they're having a really fine time. Can't recommend it highly enough!" At this week's Backstage is Leslie McDonal (American Idiot, Hairspray), Kevin Meaney (Broadway's favorite comedian), ?T. THE MEETING, July 24 at 9:30PM:
Psst! You're Invited to The Meeting*! Known for its signature blend of outrageous comedy, touching tribute, and amazing musical guests - The Meeting* finds a new home at 54 Below! This acclaimed monthly comedy/variety show, (named one of the "Top 10 Nightclub Shows" by Time Out New York & the recipient of the 2012 Bistro Award for Comedy Artistry), gathers to honor an artist or a cultural work that is iconic to the gay community. "Return Engagement! Mamma's singing some great tunes from Aretha Franklin, Supertramp, Nina Simone and of course the showtune favorites you love to hear. With musical direction by Cap 21′s Marshall Keating, Ben Levy of Lesser Ghost on guitar and Stationary Set's Logan Baldwin on drums-the music is going to be killer! LATE NIGHT: 15:54, July 25 at 11PM:
In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes." Re-inventing the magic on the site of the original Studio 54, Thursday's 15:54 party at 54 Below will unlock it's doors to cutting edge Performance Artists and DJs. This week The Haus of Mimosa will host, DJ Lord Easy, Noah Stewart, Tori Scott, Varsity Interpretative Dance Squad and more. $15 cover charge includes your first drink (well, wine, or beer) 11pm.

BINDERS FULL OF WOMEN'S SONGS:
Acclaimed musical theatre writers Gretchen Cryer & Nancy Ford headline a late-night cabaret featuring women composers and lyricists, presented by The Directory of Contemporary Musical Theatre Writers. Featured are a rich and eclectic mix of songs by some of today's most exciting women writers, including: Jill Abromowitz, Masi Asare, Linda Dowdell, Beth Falcone, Jenny Giering, Shaina Taub, Sara Wordsworth and many others. Presented in conjunction with City Center's new Encores! SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED, July 28 at 7PM:
A celebrated New York event since 2010, the Bistro Award-winning series Sondheim Unplugged features some of Broadway and cabaret's most dynamic voices, accompanied by piano only. Expect tunes from A Little Night Music, Company, Into the Woods, Follies, Passion, Dick Tracy and more. Past special guests have included original Sondheim cast members such as Len Cariou, Victoria Mallory & Donna McKechnie - so you never know who might drop in. Jackie Hoffman, July 28 at 9:30PM:
Broadway's bitter favorite Jackie Hoffman's "Old Woman, New Material" will leave you in stitches! Slip into some summer snark and catch the hilarious and always edgy and wrong Jackie as she debuts some new original songs and rips some Broadway standards to shreds.
