"The Schimmel Center is one of the crown jewels of lower Manhattan and the world of performing arts," said Pace University President Stephen J. Friedman. "This year's star-studded programs have something for everyone and will provide audiences with unforgettable and awe-inspiring moments." Schimmel Center Series is curated by Martin L. Kagan, Pace University's Executive Director of Cultural Affairs. Mr. Kagan's long career in the field of dance and performing arts, including stints at the executive director of The Paul Taylor Dance Company, The Alex Theatre in Glendale, California, Opera America, and L.A.'s John Anson Ford Theatre, informs Pace University's standard of excellence. "In a city renowned for artistry and diversity," says Kagan, "Schimmel Center continues to establish itself as a key player in New York's performing arts landscape. We hope to continue to showcase Schimmel Center as an accessible and vibrant venue for international artists and ensembles of the highest quality to perform at affordable prices for all of New York City and the Tri-State area."
Located adjacent to The World Trade Center, Brooklyn Bridge and City Hall, Pace University's 672-seat Schimmel Center is readily and easily accessible by car, bus, subway and PATH train. The room offers ample space for groups but is small enough to provide flawless sight-lines and truly intimate performances. Competitive ticket pricing is aimed at enticing New Yorkers of all types to visit and explore the best music, theatre and dance that the world has to offer. Guests are encouraged to come early and share a glass of wine prior to the performance at our lobby bar. Student tickets, available to enrollees at any University, High School or Junior High School in the New York area, are only $10 for any performance in Schimmel Center's season with a valid student ID.
