A TAYLOR SWIFT LOVE STORY, July 22 at 9:30PM:

There is no contemporary songwriter more prolific in articulating the highs and lows of young love than Taylor Swift. Her songs - some familiar to all, some lesser-known - span one universal emotional territory. Using selections from all four of Swift's studio albums alongside intermittent poetry and narration, the concert will celebrate Taylor Swift's catalog of beautiful and lively songs about young love. Featuring a cast of Broadway performers, Taylor Swift's best songs will be shared via specific perspectives by some of the theatre community's most adept young storytellers. Conceived and directed by Kimberly Belflower (Lost Girl, An Emily Dickinson Christmas, Chronic Fatigue; MFA playwriting candidate at UT Austin '17). CABARET: THIS AMBITIOUS ORCHESTRA REINVENTS KANDER & EBB, July 23 at 9:30PM:

WILKOMMEN! This Ambitious Orchestra, the symphonic rebels of downtown New York, restage their legendary performance of Kander & Ebb's Cabaret, steeped in glam and fishnets. Benjamin Ickies and special guests sing the Cabaret book to brand-new arrangements inspired more by Queen and Bowie than Rodgers & Hammerstein. So don't tell mama, but life truly is a Cabaret! Former child "star" and current NYC-based award-winning writer and performer Tim Realbuto (Ghostlight, The Emperor's Club) returns to 54 Below in an all-new show entitled Tim Realbuto: Alone (With Plenty of Help). In this deeply personal, poignant and hilarious show, Tim will tell the (mostly*) true story of how he grew up in show business and went from former child actor to the adult writer of the popular new Broadway-bound musical Ghostlight. Some of Tim's famous Broadway friends will help him along the way, playing different characters from his past and sometimes (when things get too hard), even playing Tim himself. Good news: Phillip DeBlanks is dead! He was a villain, a scoundrel and a lousy dancer. Or was he? Is it possible Phillip DeBlanks was framed by one of his circle of friends? You provide nouns, verbs, adjectives, desserts and body parts, and we provide the laughs - uncensored and unrehearsed - as the cast enact the story using words you've put in their mouths. It's "Clue" meets adult "Mad Libs," performed by some of the funniest people in New York! Like a ride to summer camp in the back of a station wagon, each eye-watering performance is ridiculously one-of-a-kind, and, best of all, the proceeds benefit Broadway Cares. This "musically thrilling" undie-rock, comedy-pop duo don't just strip down their musical arrangements, they literally strip down to their underwear to perform their distinctive mashups and eccentric originals for cello and ukulele, with touches of glockenspiel, melodica, and a surprising array of under-used instruments. Award-winning singer-actors Lauren Molina (Marry Me a Little, Sweeney Todd, Rock of Ages) and Nick Cearley (All Shook Up) became YouTube sensations as The Skivvies, with living room videos that displayed their powerful harmonies as well as their powerful abs. Come a Little Closer is a celebration of the music that matters most to Gets... Rodgers and Hammerstein, Irving Berlin, Jule Styne, Cole Porter, James Taylor... he MIGHT sing something written in this century, but most likely not. Broadway has embraced Malcolm in shows like Amour, The Story of My Life, and Macbeth, while television & film audiences fondly remember him from Caroline in the City, Grey Gardens, The Good Wife & Blue Bloods, among many others.
