Hudson Terrace is generously donating their time, space, and staff for an evening of love, music, and solidarity. Stonewall Community Foundation's Emergency Response Fund will ensure that the funds will support the non-profit organizations serving the victims of the tragedy - now, and in the weeks and months to come.
"We know so many of us have been emotionally and spiritually impacted by the tragic and unnecessary deaths of 49 members of the LGBTQ and ally communities in Orlando last month." said Sue Sena, co-founder, Swish Ally Fund and #NYCLovesOrlando Coalition leader. "We know that we have the power to make a difference in the face of such hate. Our communities have shown it time and time again over the last decade. Love has always prevailed. We are honored to partner with Hudson Terrace to lead this coalition for this inspiring and important event."
Founded in 2014, the Swish Ally Fund supports organizations and programs that engage straight allies in the fight for LGBT equality - as volunteers, advocates, ambassadors, board members, activists, and donors. The first fund of its kind, it was created by the award-winning gay-straight alliance, Swish - because equality is not possible without straight allies. For over a decade Swish engaged straight allies in joyful partnership with the LGBT community as partners in the movement for freedom and equality.
The event takes place on Monday, July 18 from 6 - 9 p.m. ET at Hudson Terrace, located in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, is a full-service, bi-level NYC event venue with a one-of-a-kind view of the Intrepid on the Hudson River. Hudson Terrace is located at 621 West 46th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues in Manhattan.
