The original Broadway cast of CRY-BABY will take the stage at 54 Below for a reunion concert later this fall, according to the venue's official website. The concert will be performed twice on Sept. 17, once at 9:30 p.m. and then at 11:00 p.m.
Per press notes, "Cry-Baby is based on the movie of the same name by John Waters and features a score by David Javerbaum (Act of God) and Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne), and a book by Mark O'Donnell (Hairspray) and Thomas Meehan (Annie). Although it only ran for three months, Cry-Baby was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the long-awaited official cast album will be released shortly. You'd have to have a screw loose not to come!"
The evening will feature original cast members James Snyder (If/Then), Elizabeth Stanley (On the Town), Chester Gregory (Sister Act), Christopher Hanke (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), Harriet Harris (It Shoulda Been You), Alli Mauzey (Wicked), Cameron Adams (Gigi), Nick Blaemire (Godspell), Michael Buchanan (The Book of Mormon), Colin Cunliffe (Finding Neverland) 11:30PM ONLY, Lacey Kohl (Grease), Marty Lawson (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), Spencer Liff (So You Think You Can Dance), Mayumi Miguel (Promises, Promises), Richard Poe (All the Way), Eric Sciotto (Something Rotten), Peter Matthew Smith (Memphis), and Charlie Sutton (An American in Paris) at the 11:30PM show only.
