Broadway favorite Natalie Joy Johnson and drag darling Eve Starr will present the premiere of HIGH SPIRITS & LOW STANDARDS. Under the Musical Direction of Brian Nash, it will be performed for two performances only beginning October 10 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre.

HIGH SPIRITS & LOW STANDARDS is a 1970's nightclub-style act packed with classic and pop standards that have been twisted, bent, ...and belted out by two brassy show gals. Think "The Girl From Ipenema" with a reggae twang, or P!nk's "Get This Party Started" as a torchy ballad. Think Singapore Slings and Pink Ladies. Think Nolan Miller sequined jumpsuits and Norma Kamali printed caftans.

Natalie Joy Johnson is a singer/actress/cabaret artiste extraordinaire living in New York City. Natalie broke out onto the NY theatre scene in 2004, playing the role of Nadia in the off-Broadway cult hit, BARE: A POP OPERA. She made her Broadway debut as law school lesbian Enid Hoopes in LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL. She then went out with the first national tour of LEGALLY BLONDE, this time playing the role of the UPS-loving manicurist, Paulette Buonofante. Natalie has headlined sold-out concerts in various venues all over Manhattan including Joe's Pub, Feinstein's at the Regency, Ars Nova, and the Cutting Room.

Bon-vivant Eve Starr has been stirring the pot of NYC nightlife fabulousness for the past several years. This southern born debutramp rapidly established herself as a fresh and sparkling jewel in the blinding tiara of NYC drag with appearances on MTV, Kevin Cahoon's Fashionista video, Booka Shade's Sweet Lies video and co-starred along side Jai Rodriguez on Broadway in Exposed for the Actor's Fund. She has also graced the sticky after-hours stages of some of New York's finest establishments including therapy (Psycho Babble at therapy with co-host Mimi Imfurst and Codependent Tuesdays with Natalie Joy Johnson), Lavish Lounge, Splash, The Parkside Lounge, East of Eighth, and the infamous The Slide.

HIGH SPIRITS & LOW STANDARDS runs Thursdays October 10 & 17 at 7:30pm. The Laurie Beechman Theater is located inside West Bank Cafe at 407 West 42nd Street -- at Ninth Avenue, accessible from the A,C,E,N,R,V,F,1,2 & 3 trains at 42nd Street). Tickets are $20 plus a $15 food/drink minimum. To purchase tickets, call 212-352-3101 or visit www.SpinCycleNYC.com.
